Machine Shop Assistant -- Weekend Shift

We are hiring a machine shop assistant to support the weekend shift. This role helps with with the preparation of parts at different stages of the machining process, so they are ready for assembly.

Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6am to 6:30pm - with bonus hours when you work the complete shift.
Rate: $20 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities 
- Metal cleaning, clean different types of metal with chemical cleaners
- Deburring, clean small machined parts by deburring rough edges to make a smooth from the cuts made by the CNC Machines
- Polish, use a polisher to bring a smooth, mirror-like finish to the materials and parts. This will also include high-end stainless steel lights before they are shipped out
- Grinding, take down material and/or smooth out welds or surfaces to be welded at multiple stages of the manufacturing process 
- Maintaining work space and assigned tools clean and orderly
- Help clean and organize the machine shop and welding areas
- Familiarity with materials and components
- Continuous training and learning of new products and materials on an ongoing basis
- Observe and follow safety rules and regulations specific to the work area
- Loading/unloading raw aluminum parts
- Cleaning parts for machining

Requirements:

- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in welding preparation
- Skilled with power tools such as polisher and grinder
- Reliable and accountable
- Good communication 
- Positive attitude
- Skilled and dexterous with manual work
- Attentive and alert

Physical Demands:
Must have ability to lift, carry and stack product weighing between 35 and 45 pounds.
Ability to stand a total of 8 hours per day, with breaks while occasionally bending, stooping, twisting, and do repetitive work for 2 to 4 hours at a time

We are a Florida Drug Free Workplace. The company requires all employees to complete a pre-employment 10 panel drug screen; employment status will be dependent on ability to pass this screening and partake on a quarterly random screen.
