## Job Description Summary:
This faculty member will provide supervision/education of residents and medical students in the field of interventional pain management within the department of Anesthesiology. Rank is dependent on qualifications. Assistant Professor or higher.

Job Duties Outlined:

- Provide clinical supervision of residents and medical students with significant involvement with each resident assigned to service.
- Attend GMEC committees, conferences, etc. as requested by the Chair or Program Director.​
- Participate in ad hoc GME activities.
- Complete monthly resident evaluations within 1 week of the end of their rotation.
- Complete monthly timesheets as required by WCGME.
- Attend three or more M&M conferences annually.
- Attend three or more Journal Clubs annually.
- Provide a minimum of 2 resident lectures annually.
- Participate in semi-annual CCC process.
- Participate in one or more mock orals annually.
- Mentor 1 resident annually.

Required Qualifications:

Education : MD, DO or foreign degree equivalent.

This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position.  The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Licenses/Certification:

- Fellowship trained in Pain Medicine or Spine Medicine

Work Experience :

- Demonstrated didactic and intraoperative teaching skills.
- Knowledgeable of ACGME residency requirements.
- Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic and acute pain conditions including use of electromyography, nerve conduction studies, peripheral joint and trigger point injections, musculoskeletal ultrasound, management of spasticity related to CNS injury, cerebral palsy, etc., and image-guided spinal diagnostics including discograms, interlaminar and transforaminal epidurals, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulation, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty and intrathecal pump placements.
- Experience in treatment of chronic and acute pain conditions.
- Experience in interventional pain therapies.
