Position Overview
The Operations Supervisor leads the daily manufacturing and warehousing functions while advancing operational efficiency, process standardization, quality, and on-time delivery. This role provides visible floor leadership, aligns resources and priorities across departments, develops team leaders and associates, and drives continuous improvement to support customer experience and business growth. The Operations Supervisor establishes clear expectations and accountability, models company values, and builds a collaborative, engaged, and safety-focused culture. This position is onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and allocate labor and resources across manufacturing and warehouse operations to achieve quality, productivity, capacity, and on-time delivery targets.
- Partner with operations leadership to establish clear expectations, accountability, key performance indicators, and performance objectives for team leaders and associates.
- Maintain a visible floor presence to monitor workflow, resolve issues, remove bottlenecks, adjust priorities, and support timely order fulfillment
- Coach, mentor, train, and cross-train employees to build current capabilities and a strong talent pipeline; conduct performance reviews and address performance or conduct concerns consistently and appropriately.
- Ensure products and assemblies meet established quality standards and customer requirements before release from the department.
- Monitor and improve on-time delivery, lead times, product cost, quality, workflow, and labor and material utilization while identifying and eliminating waste.
- Develop, maintain, and reinforce standard operating procedures, training practices, 5S principles, safe work practices, housekeeping expectations, and consistent application of company policies.
- Maintain working knowledge of departmental processes and equipment and escalate operational or equipment issues for timely resolution.
- Lead regular meetings with team leaders to review goals, capacity, staffing needs, order priorities, performance, and project status.
- Coordinate resource allocation, order completion, job handoffs, and escalated issues across manufacturing and warehouse teams, while promoting consistent best practices.
- Partner with Customer Service to communicate order status, resolve escalated issues, investigate bill-of-material or mis-shipment concerns, and keep product builds and delivery commitments on schedule.
- Document and maintain approved product modifications in P21 or other applicable business systems to ensure accuracy on future orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in distribution, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, operations, or a related field, with at least three years of leadership experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Three to five years of supervisory or management/leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to establish accountability, develop employees, manage competing priorities, and guide teams through operational and organizational change.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, process standardization, and waste reduction preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Professional, approachable, and trustworthy, with the ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, P21 or a comparable ERP system, and web-based tools.
- Experience in fluid power assembly or a related manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic business calculations and unit-of-measure conversions; interpret manuals and reports; follow workplace rules and procedures; and carry out written or verbal instructions involving multiple variables.
