The Nurse Extern plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support within the organization. Working under direct supervision, this role assists the nursing staff in delivering comprehensive healthcare services and contributes to the overall well-being of patients. This position collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of care.
Essential Job Function:
- Assists in the assessment and monitoring of patients' physical and mental health status.
- Provides direct patient care, performing treatments, and assisting with procedures.
- Documents patient information accurately and maintains up-to-date medical records.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitors and reports changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff.
- Adheres to infection control protocols and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Rising senior in college actively enrolled and in an approved school of Nursing.
- Completion of Nursing Assistant I and II training program.
Experience:
- None required
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: NAI Certification| Nurse Aid I
- NAII Certification | Nursing Assistant II
- BLS (CPR) | AHA or ARC
- Currently listed, in good standing, as Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina, Division of Facilities Services.
