Batching Technician

Job Title: Batching & Blending Technician (2x2x3 DAYS) Job Description The Batching & Blending Technician prepares beverage products for production by accurately mixing ingredients according to detailed formulations and specifications. This hands-on, physically demanding role supports manufacturing operations by operating batching equipment, transporting ingredients with a forklift, documenting activities in SAP, and working closely with Quality to ensure all products meet strict food safety and quality standards. The technician follows GMP and food safety procedures at all times and plays a key role in maintaining efficient, compliant production in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

- Follow batching and blending formulas precisely to prepare beverage products according to detailed specifications.
- Operate batching and blending equipment to mix ingredients safely and efficiently.
- Transport ingredients and pre-weighed materials using a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Verify ingredients, lot information, and production data in SAP prior to starting each batch.
- Scan and document materials and production activities accurately in SAP and other production records.
- Pull samples from blend tanks and deliver them to the laboratory or Quality department for testing.
- Make batch adjustments based on Quality feedback and product specifications to ensure products meet standards.
- Complete all production, quality, and food safety documentation thoroughly and accurately.
- Perform sanitation and cleaning of blending equipment, tanks, utensils, and work areas to maintain hygienic conditions.
- Support CIP (Clean-in-Place) and COP (Clean-out-of-Place) cleaning processes as required.
- Unload and handle raw material deliveries, including organizing and staging materials for production.
- Maintain strict compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, FDA, and internal food safety requirements at all times.
- Work with urgency and strong attention to detail to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
- Communicate effectively with production, quality, and other team members to coordinate batching activities.
- Adhere to attendance and reliability expectations to support continuous manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills

- 2–3+ years of manufacturing experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other regulated production environments.
- Experience following detailed work instructions, batch records, recipes, or formulations in a production setting.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to document production and quality activities accurately.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
- Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour schedule, including a Continental Day Shift (2-2-3 rotation).
- Good communication skills and the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly.
- Stable work history with a strong attendance record.
- Experience with chemical processing, batching, blending, or similar production processes.
- Basic familiarity with quality control processes in a manufacturing or bottling environment.
- Forklift experience for moving ingredients and materials.
- Comfort working with laboratory samples and basic chemistry-related tasks as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in beverage, food manufacturing, or pharmaceutical production environments.
- Forklift certification or formal training in forklift operation.
- Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems for production and materials documentation.
- Training or experience with GMP, HACCP, SQF, or other food safety programs.
- Experience with batching, blending, mixing, compounding, or formulation processes in a manufacturing setting.
- Basic math skills for working with measurements, ratios, and formulas.
- Quality control and bottling experience in a regulated environment.
- Interest in long-term growth opportunities, including skill development and potential promotions through planned growth programs.

Work Environment This role is based in a high-volume production facility with a 12-hour Continental Day Shift (2-2-3 rotation), starting in the early evening around 6:15 PM. There is potential for future transition to a Monday–Friday schedule or alternative shifts, though this is not expected for several months. The work is very hands-on and physically demanding, involving frequent lifting, standing, and moving throughout the production area. The production environment is not climate controlled and can become very hot or very cold depending on the season, so comfort working in varying temperatures is important. Team members wear GMP-adhering personal protective equipment and follow strict food safety and hygiene practices at all times. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and quality-driven, with opportunities to grow skills and earn pay increases or promotions through an upcoming growth program.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greer, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
