In leading TUMI’s global product vision, the Sr. Vice President, Global Product Management will evaluate and generate new product ideas while remaining consistent to brand strategy and core business development. As owner of the global product strategy, this leader will innovate and maximize our significant business - currently approaching a billion dollars in revenue - to achieve full potential of our product range and double revenue.
The Sr. Vice President Global Product Management will leverage TUMI’s heritage, modern design, and brand story - The TUMI DIFFERENCE - to create consumer-informed, long-term product roadmaps. This is not about flash-in-the pan success; this is about promoting authentic brand growth so that sixty years from now, TUMI will be as relevant of a lifestyle brand as it is today.
ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
- Key member of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for shaping and shifting brand strategies and long-range plans; one of seven global leaders steering the business and one of four global executives based in the US.

- Build and cultivate relationships broadly to influence product strategy, mobilize resources to drive business, meet customers’ needs, drive operational excellence, and meet ambitious sales and growth goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership and full accountability for the long-term, 2-5 year global product strategy.
- Manage product lifecycle from concept to retirement in all product categories, including but not limited to: Travel, Men’s, Women’s, and Licensed Products.
- Drive global market and industry research initiatives and leverage third-party trend resources to validate product strategies.
- Predict and capitalize on global business opportunities and risks utilizing sales performance, global trend data, demographic/psychographic consumer analytics, and competitive analysis.
- Consolidate input from corporate partners and global regions into a highly curated, focused product and price strategy—including SKU expansion and rationalization.
- Communicate and coordinate efforts for unified support with internal peers/resources in design, marketing, merchandising, and sourcing.
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive leadership team to ensure best practices are in place.
- Ensure product is constantly evolving to meet our customers’ needs and biggest business opportunities are aligned with brand priorities.
- Identify industry trends and develop innovative strategies to support growth.
- Maintain close collaboration with Sourcing on GM goals, including global retail price alignment.
- Establish deep working relationship with Head of Merchandising, North America, and global general managers.
- Effectively partner with marketing on driving market-relevant customer acquisition and brand strategies.
- Ensure product stories and big ideas are translated across every distribution channel into an engaging customer experience with a focus on credible storytelling, product knowledge, and love of travel, adventure, and design.
- Develop strong relationships with current and new licensing partners resulting in on-brand, lifestyle product extensions.
- Develop talent and create actionable succession plans to support growth and development.
- Lead, direct, and develop the Global Product and Licensing teams with cross-functional support partners, including Creative/Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Marketing, eCommerce, Store Operations, Human Resources, and Finance.
Qualifications:
- Product Leader: 10+ years leading high growth, successful product launches with deep understanding of competitive landscape, macro trends and consumer behavior outside of the organization to evaluate and incorporate opportunity where appropriate.
- Business Driver: Highly developed understanding of how product decisions impact top and bottom line across diverse distribution and business model complexities around the globe. Proven track record of leading positive evaluation of product potential against investment of company resources; know where to place the big bets.
- Customer Acquisition: Positive track record of building partnerships, specifically in development of licensed product extensions to drive customer acquisition.
- Innovation Cultivator: Identify trends and develop innovative product strategies that transform and evolve product offerings.
- Personal Leadership: Demonstrated executive presence, presentation, decisiveness to influence all levels cross-functionally in a matrix environment where speed is crucial.

- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.

- This role may have the opportunity to earn an annual target bonus based on several factors including Company and individual performance, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company’s bonus plan in effect from time to time.
