We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and developing components and assemblies for rotating machinery tailored to customer specifications. You will play a crucial part in creating and revising 3D models and 2D drawings, ensuring precision and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design individual parts and assemblies of rotating machinery per customer requirements.
- Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Perform tolerance stack-ups for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Assist the engineering team during qualification activities, design robustness improvements, and ECR-driven design changes.
- Transfer-of-work updates: re-dimension drawings, apply GD&T, update BOMs, and ensure mechanical changes align with company standards.
- Work closely with electrical engineers, internal engineers, and others to resolve design issues and support proposals, testing, and production.
- Contribute to technical reviews, support test procedures, create status reports, and maintain design documentation throughout development and qualification.
Essential Skills
- Experience with rotating machinery design, including motors, generators, bearings, and shafts.
- Proficient in New Product Introduction (NPI) with emphasis on customer contract requirements.
- Expertise in Solid Modeling (CAD), with a preference for CATIA, and SolidWorks as a secondary option.
- Strong background in the aerospace industry.
- Proficient in GD&T, with the ability to interpret, apply, and correct GD&T on complex assemblies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace industry is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with rotating equipment or integration, including motors, generators, shafts, bearings, and spinning products.
Work Environment
This position is predominantly office-based, where you will collaborate extensively with other engineering teams. The work environment offers exciting projects within the Aerospace industry, providing a stimulating and innovative atmosphere.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Twinsburg, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
