General Purpose:
Prepares various food products for restaurant and banquet operations, guest consumption and guest enjoyment. Will work closely with our Executive Chef to develop and hone your skills.
Essential Duties:
- Assists in the food preparation for the assigned station including; pantry, broiler/grill or saut.
- Prepares and cooks ordered items during restaurant service according to Chefs specifications.
- Inspects all stations in Kitchen at the end of each shift to make sure they are all broken down and cleaned to sanitation standards.
- Ensures proper food storage methods, labeling, rotation and temperature controls for all food items.
- Ensures proper portion control and proper plating presentations.
- Cleans and sanitizes workstation work station and equipment.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes and smells.
- Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
- Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
- Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather.
- Noise level is moderate.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Average knowledge of industrial equipment including range, ovens, slicer, deep fryer and grill.
- 2-3 years line experience a must.
- Culinary degree preferred.
Additional Details:
- Full-Time hourly.
- Must be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
