Job Summary:
Join the Advanced Leads and Insights team of Cat Digital and perform analytical tasks and initiatives on huge amounts of data to support data-driven business decision and development.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a team building a new digital product from scratch! This role will be tasked with collaborating with senior team members to build backend data infrastructure and performing extensive data validation using mature techniques as well as leveraging AI.

What You Will Do:

- Analyzing customer requirements and catering solutions that are implementable and maintainable.

- Discerning data accuracy in large sets of data of diverse formats

- Having proficiency in SQL and other data programming languages.

- Performing the data gathering, data mining, and data processing processes in huge volume; creating appropriate data models.

- Presenting and reporting possible business insights to management using data visualization technologies.

What You Will Have:

- Communicating Complex Concepts: Working knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

- ETL Process: Working knowledge of the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) process; ability to develop a database through the ETL process.

- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

- Analytical Thinking: Working knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

- Machine Learning: Working knowledge of principles, technologies and algorithms of machine learning; ability to develop, implement and deliver related systems, products and services.

- Programming Languages: Working knowledge of basic concepts and capabilities of applying Python programming to solve business challenges; ability to use tools, techniques and platforms in order to write and modify programming languages.

- Query and Database Access Tools: Advanced knowledge of data management systems; experience using SQL to join multiple large datasets.

Considerations for Top Candidates:

- Typically, a Bachelors or Masters degree in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Industrial, Agricultural, etc.), or equivalent technical degree.

- In-depth technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field; demonstrated interest in using AI solutions to solve business challenges

- Understanding of information management concepts such as controlled vocabularies, authority control, data modeling, and schema design.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality, data modeling, and data architecture concepts
- Snowflake and other business intelligence experience

- Working knowledge with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)

- Ability to work collaboratively in a complex, rapidly changing, and culturally diverse environment.

- Experience with version control / repositories such as GitHub

- Must demonstrate strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively; demonstrated ability to work independently to identify data inconsistencies and recommend corrective action

Summary Pay Range:

$97,530.00 - $146,290.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
