Senior Product Manager, Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) - Sustainability

Amazon is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) product end-to-end. The DPP is a foundational regulatory obligation under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) — and a significant strategic opportunity for Amazon. As product owner, you will define the vision and roadmap and translate a fast-moving regulatory landscape into concrete product requirements.
This is a builder role for someone who thrives in ambiguity. The problem space is not fully defined: regulations are still being finalized, harmonised technical standards are emerging, and Amazon’s approach must be invented from first principles. You will set the goals, make the one-way and two-way door calls, and drive clarity across teams that have competing priorities. You will hold an honest tension between what the regulation requires and what creates durable value for customers and the business.
Success looks like: a defensible product strategy grounded in the regulation; a data pipeline and attribute framework that scale across product categories; on-time delivery of mandatory obligations; and DPP data positioned as a reusable asset that unlocks value across Amazon beyond pure compliance.

Key job responsibilities
* Own the DPP product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
* Translate regulation into product requirements.
* Shape the DPP data pipeline alongside engineering.
* Manage stakeholders and communicate with precision.
* Own DPP metrics and reporting.
* Extend DPP value beyond compliance.
* Operate AI-first. Encode product judgment, tenets, and trade-off frameworks into durable, machine-readable artifacts, and use AI to compress research, synthesis, and drafting cycles — owning the outcome and applying judgment to what ships.

About the team
The EU Digital Product Passport team sits within Amazon RISC International and owns Amazon’s response to one of the most consequential product-compliance shifts in the EU. A Digital Product Passport is a structured, verifiable record of a product’s attributes — origin, composition, sustainability, and circularity data — accessible via a data carrier such as a QR code. Under ESPR and its delegated acts, DPPs become mandatory on a rolling schedule by product category, starting with batteries and extending to textiles, toys, and beyond.
Beyond the regulatory mandate, the team is charting how DPP data can become a strategic asset across Amazon — for example, powering Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) eco-modulation, enriching the catalog, and serving as a single source of truth that auto-populates downstream compliance requirements. The person in this role helps define that ambition and turn it into a shippable roadmap.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
- Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering
- Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience with end to end product delivery

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
