Human Resource Coordinator — Job Description

Position Summary

The Human Resource Coordinator provides essential administrative and process support to the People/HR function. This role serves as a first point of contact for general employee and manager questions, ensures timely and accurate handling of personnel-related documentation and processes, and escalates more complex matters to the appropriate HR Business Partner or HR leader. This role reports to the Divisional Human Resource Director.

This role partners with managers to provide guidance on HR policies and processes, performance management and state specific compliance.

The ideal candidate is a service-oriented HR professional with strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Employee and Manager Support

- Serve as the initial point of contact for general personnel and HR-related questions.
- Respond to inquiries within agreed-upon service-level expectations, providing accurate information and clear next steps.
- Deliver consistent process support to employees and managers.
- Identify and appropriately escalate complex, sensitive, or non-routine matters to an HR Manager, HR Director, or other appropriate resource.

Process Coordination and Continuous Support

- Support the HR Manager and HR Director with administrative needs and execution of people-related priorities.
- Maintain awareness of standard HR processes and identify opportunities to improve consistency, clarity, and service delivery.
- Partner effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure requests are routed, tracked, and resolved efficiently.

Employee Relations

- Serve as a point of contact for workplace concerns, interpersonal conflicts, complaints, attendance issues, and policy questions.
- Guide managers on performance concerns, attendance, conduct, difficult conversations, documentation, corrective action, and employee communications.
- Review and/or prepare written corrective actions

Qualifications

Required

- 1-3 years of relevant experience 
- Experience supporting Human Resources, People Operations, or employee-relations processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer-service mindset and ability to respond professionally to a variety of questions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn HR systems and processes.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred

- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
- Familiarity with HR information systems, document management, and case or ticket tracking tools.
