What You'll Do
As an Olfactory NYC “Scent-tologist,” you will be responsible for engaging with customers, blending fragrances (Don’t worry! We’ll train you!), sales floor operations and being a brand ambassador in- store and at off-site events. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Welcoming guests into the space and encouraging them to explore and partake in the experience
- Sharing the brand story and product knowledge
- Guiding customers through the scent customization and blending process of the OlfactoryNYC fragrances
- Supporting day-to-day sales floor operations including processing POS transactions accurately, packaging and wrapping guest orders, helping direct traffic flow, blending custom fragrances and more
- Fulfilling e-commerce orders
- Embodying the brand’s voice and vision with all experiences to sustain strong client relationships
- Ensuring supplies remained stocked and refilled (ability to lift up to 40lbs)
What We’re Looking For
- Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for fragrance and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Communication Skills: Ability to articulate the magic of fragrance with charisma. Multilingual is a plus!
- Creativity: Bring your unique flair to the scent-creation process.
- Detail-Oriented: Keep things smelling sweet by paying attention to the little things.
- Eager Learners: Ready to dive into the fascinating world of fragrance.
Compensation and Perks
- Starting pay: $17 per hour
- Customer tips: After an initial 10-20 day training/ apprenticeship period, each Scent-ologist will be eligible to earn customer tips (*Typically this increases an employee's base pay to $21-28/hour on average , however tips are not guaranteed.)
