POSITION SUMMARY:  Protect life and property by responding to fires, rescue incidents, medical emergencies, alarms, and other calls for se1vice. Perform fire suppression, search and rescue, equipment maintenance, and fire prevention duties. Work as part of a crew under the direction of the Fire Chief or Captain and provide professional service to the Comanche Nation and surrounding communities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Respond to structure fires, wildland fires, vehicle incidents, medical emergencies, and other assigned calls.

- Deploy hose, establish water supplies, operate firefighting tools, and assist with suppression, ventilation, salvage, and overhaul as trained and assigned.

- Perform search and rescue and provide first aid, CPR/ AED, and medical assistance within current certification and authorized protocols.

- Inspect, clean, inventory, and maintain apparatus, protective clothing, SCBA, hose, tools, and medical supplies; promptly report damage, shortages, or unsafe conditions.

- Complete station housekeeping and assigned daily duties to maintain operational readiness.

- Participate in FSRI drills, monthly training, physical conditioning, and required ce1tification training.

- Complete accurate incident reports, equipment checks, and training records; protect confidential information.

- Follow department procedures, incident command, accountability, and safety practices; use required protective equipment.

- Assist with fire prevention education, community events, and safety inspections as assigned.

- Coordinate with Emergency Management and mutual aid agencies as directed; perform other related duties assigned by the Fire Chief or Captain.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Firefighters face significant physical demands requiring strength, endurance, and agility. Duties include carrying heavy equipment

(50-100 lbs.); climbing, crouching, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, grasping, walking, and repetitive movements. Must be able to communicate and recognize hazards while working in protective equipment. Use computers for reports. Work Schedule: 48-96 shift schedule, with on-call duties when required. Travel Required: Occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Work in fire stations and respond to emergencies in various settings, including exposure to smoke, heat, adverse weather, uneven terrain, traffic, and other emergency scene hazards.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

All firefighters, including those participating in live firefighting exercises, will be trained in compliance with NFPA 1001 Standards for Firefighters' Professional Qualifications and NFPA 1403 Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions. No new firefighter may participate in structural firefighting activities or training that requires entry into or proximity to a building, enclosed structure, vehicle, or vessel until they have completed the required training. VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIRED.
