POSITION SUMMARY:

The Performance Program Manager is a member of the Mint Museum’s curatorial team working with the Chief Curator on programming with external collaborators, often that intersects non-visual art forms with visual art. Primarily, this is the Wednesday Night Live (WNL) series and M5 installations at Mint Uptown, but can include additional programs as developed. Tasks include administrative and program management to promote the mission and vision of the organization through these specific programs at both Mint locations.

The full curatorial team includes the President/CEO, Chief Curator, Curator of Contemporary Art, Curator of American Art, Curator of Decorative Arts, Curator of Craft, Design & Fashion, Associate Curator of Craft, Design & Fashion, Director of Library and Archives, Archivist and Curatorial Assistant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Assisting chief curator in developing the partnerships and budget for programs and managing them after established.

- Drafting and managing Memos of Understandings (MOUs) and Payment Requisitions (PRs).

- Managing calendar, correspondence, and site visits/meetings for partners.

- Drafting and managing agendas for meetings and Run of Shows (ROSs) for events.

- Coordinating any outside needs including catering, bar set ups, AV contracting, etc.

- Working with internal staff on space set up, security, housekeeping, loading dock/install needs, marketing requests, and any additional staffing support needs.

- Manage logistics for the M5pace including install/deinstall calendar, contractor needs, loading dock/security requirements, and opening event details.

- Work with Curatorial, Learning and Engagement, and Events when necessary for these programs - Manage inventory of supplies - Attend all programs and meetings that fall under the role of this position.

Qualifications

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES: DESIRABLE FUNCTIONS:

Excellent communication skills, time management, cash handling and project management skills. Self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, empathetic, flexible, and able to effectively work independently and with a team. Exceptional ability to build/maintain relationships, trustworthiness and foster collaboration with staff, external donors, partners, Board, and volunteers.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:

- Experience in a museum setting is a plus, B.A. or B.S. degree from a four-year college or university strongly preferred.

- 2-4 years’ experience with visitor or customer service strongly preferred.

- Polished, polite, friendly manner and must enjoy working with the public.

- Knowledge of MS Office.

- Well organized and detail oriented.

- Strong oral communication skills.

- Ability to act with diplomacy.
