Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking RVA CLS Principal Field Enginee r .   This position will be located in Cheyenne, WY .

What You’ll Get To Do:

The Principal Field Engineer serves as a Team Lead, responsible for oversight and leadership of Field Technicians who perform critical repair actions to sustain the Missile Field Battlespace Awareness Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) network at FE Warren Air Force Base. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that all work is completed safely and securely and meets key performance parameters. The Principal Field Engineer works closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and government points of contact to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner. They perform required preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on RVA equipment at field sites or over the network. This work requires dispatch year-round to the remote missile field and working at heights of 50 feet in a Bucket Truck, as well as climbing and maintaining equipment on radio towers. The ideal candidate has experience in Mission Assurance and professional support for government contracts. Occasional travel will be required. This position will follows a 5/40 schedule Monday through Friday (shift 1).

Key responsibilities include:

• Advanced level troubleshooting and problem analysis.

• Ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety standards.

• Provide train-the trainer informal, on-call, user-level training.

• Strict adherence with maintenance manuals and all approved drawings.

• Safe vehicle and equipment operation.

• Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License.

• Ability to obtain Climb certification.

• Mission planning, configuration management and accurate documentation.

• Soldering, Cat 5 cabling/termination and fiberoptic repairs.

• Maintain Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certification.

• Conduct on-site testing activities to verify functionality.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications

• 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD. An additional 4 years of applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• 2 years of experience in a leadership role.

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Experience training personnel with unique system hardware.

• Proficiency in technical problem solving, to include participating in root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment(up to 40 lbs) and work in varied environmental conditions.

• Current drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current/active DOD Secret Clearance.

• Leadership or supervisory experience in a government maintenance or operations/assembly environment.

• Experience performing system upgrades as part of life-cycle sustainment.

• Experience with the operation, integration, configuration, and maintenance of military security systems, networks, radios and datalinks.

• Familiarity with network/electronic work instructions, safety policies and quality procedures.

• Experience planning and executing preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

• ICBM Maintenance or Security experience.

• Fiber optic repair and troubleshooting .

• Soldering certification.

• Knowledge of network systems and IP based audio/video systems.

• Active Class B CDL.

• Authorized Tower Climber/Rescuer Training.

• NOC experience, Network+ or other IAT certification.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
