Summary

Support the production of quality feed ingredients that help drive our operations forward. As a Feed Mill Worker, you will play a critical role in receiving, sampling, verifying, and handling bulk, liquid, and micro ingredients while ensuring materials are accurately stored and processed. You will help maintain inventory accuracy, uphold quality and safety standards, and contribute to an efficient, well-organized work environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented team member who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position has a base rate of $20-21 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Ensure trucks are weighed before unloading and weighed out prior to release.

- Record receiving information on appropriate forms.

- Ensure samples are collected from each ingredient and properly labeled.

- Inspect all incoming ingredient loads to determine whether company standards are met.

- Facilitate unloading by occasionally using a 15 lb. sledgehammer to remove ingredients.

- Conduct inventory checks on all raw material bins and report findings to the appropriate supervisor.

- Direct all raw materials to the proper bins and tanks according to assigned receipts.

- Sweep and shovel receiving areas between deliveries to maintain cleanliness and prevent ingredient contamination.

- Assist with general mill housekeeping when time permits or as assigned by the Mill Manager.

- Manually operate railcar pullers in a safe manner.

- Assist with feed truck loading and feed manufacturing as needed.

- Adhere to all safety rules, including personal protective equipment requirements, prevention and reporting of unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience

- Reading, writing, and math skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Mechanical background.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

- Work in all seasonal weather conditions.

- Work in environments with significant airborne dust.

- Work in environments with sustained noise levels greater than 85 dB.

- Ability to swing a 15 lb. sledgehammer.

- Wear and use protective and safety equipment as directed by the company.

- Ability to climb heights up to 120 feet.

- Ability to operate a forklift.

- Use required personal protective equipment while maneuvering on feed trucks and railcars.
