Job Description:

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Source-to-Contract (HCP Contracting), will ensure that the North America Healthcare Professional Contracting organization delivers results in support of Global Procurement Services, One Procurement, and Johnson & Johnson business priorities. The role provides strategic and operational leadership for the HCP Contracting team, partnering closely with business stakeholders, Legal, Healthcare Compliance, Finance, and Procurement leaders to deliver compliant, efficient, and customer-focused contracting services.

This leader is responsible for overseeing a team of people leaders and contracting professionals, directing complex healthcare professional contracting activities, managing escalations, ensuring adherence to healthcare compliance requirements, and driving continuous improvement and automation initiatives. The role serves as a key member of the Source-to-Contract leadership team and is accountable for operational performance, stakeholder satisfaction, talent development, and risk mitigation across the HCP Contracting portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

- Lead and develop. Lead a team of managers and individual contributors, ensuring effective performance management, coaching, succession planning, and employee development.
- Build capability. Develop organizational capabilities and procurement acumen while fostering an inclusive, high-performing, and customer-focused culture.
- Shape the broader agenda. Serve as an active member of the Americas Source-to-Contract Leadership Team, contributing to broader business and organizational priorities.

Operational Excellence & Service Delivery

- Own service delivery. Lead operational aspects of the HCP Contracting organization, including workload prioritization, resource allocation, service delivery, escalation management, and achievement of performance metrics and service levels.
- Oversee the contract lifecycle. Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of HCP agreements, including contract drafting, review, negotiation, redlining, approvals, execution, and amendment management.
- Resolve complexity. Provide leadership oversight for complex and strategic HCP engagements, ensuring timely resolution of contractual, operational, and compliance-related challenges.

Stakeholder Partnership & Business Support

- Build strategic partnerships. Develop strong relationships with business leaders, Legal, Healthcare Compliance, Procurement Category Management, and external partners to enable effective contract execution and business outcomes.
- Communicate organizational value. Highlight initiatives, accomplishments, and value-generation opportunities across the enterprise through clear and strategic communication.
- Advise and influence. Serve as a trusted advisor by proactively identifying risks, recommending solutions, and driving alignment on contracting strategies.

Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure compliance. Maintain adherence to applicable healthcare regulations, legal requirements, company policies, and contracting standards.
- Safeguard HCP engagements. Oversee contracting activities involving healthcare professionals and organizations while maintaining adherence to Sunshine Act, Transparency Reporting, and related healthcare compliance requirements.
- Manage escalations. Partner with Legal and Healthcare Compliance teams to address escalations, contractual risk assessments, and policy interpretation.

Strategic Improvement & Innovation

- Improve performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, quality, and compliance outcomes.
- Advance digital enablement. Lead automation, digitization, and AI-enabled solutions that improve throughput, reduce risk, and enhance the contracting experience.
- Use insight to guide decisions. Leverage data, market insights, and stakeholder feedback to identify trends, improve performance, and inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.

Required Experience & Skills

- 8+ years of relevant experience in Procurement, Contracting, Legal Operations, Finance, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or related business environments.
- Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience, including leadership of managers and/or large teams within a matrixed environment.
- Deep experience in healthcare professional contracting, including contract drafting, redlining, negotiation, and execution of complex agreements.
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance requirements and pharmaceutical industry practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and successfully lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage operational performance while balancing risk, compliance, and customer experience objectives.
- Learning agility, adaptability, and openness to change.
- Fluency in English, written and verbal, required.
- Demonstrates an understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.

Preferred

- Strong knowledge of HCP-related regulations, including Sunshine Act and Transparency Reporting requirements.
- Experience with broader Procurement functional domains, including sourcing, category management, Requisition-to-Pay, or Accounts Payable.
- Shared Services experience.
- Additional language capability supporting the region.

- Up to 5% domestic and international travel required.
