The Training Specialist designs, coordinates, delivers and evaluates training programs. The Training Specialist works to standardize, clarify, and create efficiencies in integrated systems and processes across all Terros Health programs with a specialized focus on clinical training. The Training Specialist partners closely with clinical and operational leaders to support onboarding, ongoing staff development and continuous learning, emphasizing adult learning principles, clarity, and practical application in day-to-day work. This position reports to the Manager of Learning and Development.

- Supports employees through their transition from new employee orientation to on-site onboarding, by supporting and coaching new employees, assessing their skills and knowledge, developing customized training plans, growing their competencies and following up to gauge progress to support successful and lasting employment.
- Through an in-person, competency-based approach, orients employees to the core functions of their position, including key responsibilities by introducing all tools available, including but not limited to policies, procedures, protocols, training packets, etc.
- Works closely and maintains collaborative relationships with supervisors and site and program leadership to ensure comprehensive and supportive training experience.
- Designs, facilitates, and continuously improves training programs that support Service Excellence standards, clinical workflows, and operational consistency across Terros Health
- Partners closely with clinical and operational teams and internal subject matter experts to assess training needs and translate system changes, policies, and best practices into clear, accessible learning experience, aligning with organizational priorities and expectations
- Supports the rollout of new initiatives, tools, workflows, and service standards by developing and facilitating effective training plans and materials
- Develops and maintains training content, including curricula, facilitator guides, job aids, checklists, and procedural documentation to support consistent practice
- Develop training plans to resolve inefficiencies in areas where improvement is needed. Ensures competency of trainees at the time the training is offered
- Facilitates live and virtual training sessions, workshops, and learning forums, adapting delivery to meet the needs of diverse audiences and programs.
- Facilitates trainings through a variety of learning interventions including, but not limited to, instructor-led, facilitated, on the job, coaching, 1:1 tutoring and distance learning, to advance a consistent vision, philosophy and approach to mission-driven, high quality, outcomes focused clinical care.
- Evaluates training effectiveness through feedback, participation data, and observed practice, and recommends adjustments to improve learning outcomes.
- Maintains knowledge about clinical programs and services, program/site workflows, position requirements; and provides ongoing technical support to clinical staff regarding Electronic Health Record.
- Models and reinforces Service Excellence behaviors and expectations in all interactions, training environments, and cross-functional work
- Maintains training schedules, course records, and reporting within the Relias workforce management platform to ensure accurate tracking and compliance
- Supports workforce engagement initiatives by contributing to learning experiences that strengthen confidence, consistency, and connection to mission
- Develops and maintains a peer relationship through regular meetings, planned events and ad-hoc activities focused on helping employees make a smooth transition and establish a sense of belonging. Encourages and promotes participation and engagement to facilitate cultural orientation and connection.
- Ensures that training delivered is compliant with state and other contractual obligations and stay current on best practices in adult learning, facilitation, and healthcare training, and apply relevant improvements to training approaches.
- Ensures the smooth and effective functioning of training events for all departments by partnering in the management and coordination of logistics and training systems for training programs and sessions.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in learning and development, education, business administration or in a behavioral health related field
- A minimum of two years of related experience that includes coaching, training or talent management areas; OR equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Previous work experience in behavioral health preferred
- Knowledge of training and learning concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with development and implementation of training plans and policies and procedures
- Experience in developing and delivering training
- Experience training in the use of Electronic Health Records, such as NextGen
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
- Knowledge of clinical best practice documentation standards
- Must have a valid Arizona drivers license, be 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Healths driving policy
- Must pass a TB/Drug test, and criminal background check
