Senior Accountant

Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for directing and managing the accounting functions and systems related to the Pork Profit Loss forecasting process inclusive of quarterly GAAPup LCNRV preparation and adjustments. Other duties include: participate actively in Pork Marketing and other routine meetings as deemed necessary to position; establish enhance and maintain weekly gross margin analysis and assist in research required for explanation of variances; prepare quarterly journal entries for pork balance sheet activity; direct the activities of management support staff to ensure proper maintenance of accounting systems and functions; manage weekly inventory pricing inclusive of assistance in ensuring accuracy of associated transfer pricing; maintain pork FIS information; serve as a key point of contact for our Tyson pork internal customers as well as external customers requiring data or information such as external audit; other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Requires a Bachelor s degree in an academic field directly related to the job being filled. Accounting degree preferred. 12 hours minimum accounting required. Experience: 3 plus years accounting experience. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of SAP and data base systems. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Special Skills: Strong critical thinking skills. Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a support team member who performs similar and or interrelated tasks and activities. Travel: Limited
