About this role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization or strong background in Structural Engineering.
- Must be a licensed/registered Civil Engineer with a valid professional license.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design, analysis, and construction supervision, depending on the level of the position.
- Experience in the design and assessment of buildings, bridges, dams, hydropower structures, or other civil/structural infrastructure is an advantage.
- Proficient in structural analysis and design using relevant engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of applicable international and local structural design codes and standards.
- Ability to prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines.
- Experience in international engineering consultancy projects is an advantage.
- Willingness to undertake site visits and field assignments, as required.
- Familiarity with SMEC’s relevant technical standards, quality systems, and project procedures is an advantage.
