Senior Software Engineer

<b>Overview</b><br><div dir="ltr">Role: <strong>Senior Software Engineer</strong></div><div dir="ltr"> </div><div dir="ltr">The AI Economy Team at Microsoft is building the infrastructure that powers how organizations ground, deploy, and scale AI applications. Developers can access it through self-serve, programmatic access, and access at that scale attracts abuse. The AI Economy Trust &amp; Safety team builds the detection behind those access decisions: verifying that customers are who they claim to be, recognizing when many accounts are one actor, and separating ordinary heavy usage from extraction, resale and automated exploitation.</div><div dir="ltr"><br>You will build the data and serving systems used to collect risk signals, run detection models and deliver risk decisions at production scale. These systems protect sensitive signals, model thresholds and enforcement paths. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction. </p></div><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><ul><li>Design and build reliable signal-collection and feature pipelines for fraud and abuse detection.</li><li>Design the compute, storage and serving architecture used to build and score large account graphs.</li><li>Build and operate model deployment, versioning, monitoring, rollback, shadow evaluation and staged-rollout capabilities.</li><li>Integrate risk decisions with serving and enforcement systems, including audit, review and reinstatement workflows.</li><li>Build investigation tools that help analysts examine account clusters, review evidence and document decisions.</li><li>Integrate existing Microsoft identity, tenant, telemetry and billing signals while meeting their data-contract, access, privacy and retention requirements.</li><li>Own the performance, reliability, observability, security and operational health of these systems, working with product and partner engineering teams on production integration.</li></ul><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><p><strong>Required/Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.<ul style="list-style-type: circle;"><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Additional or preferred qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Other Requirements: </strong>Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:</p><ul><li><strong>Microsoft Cloud Background Check:</strong> This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. </li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.<ul style="list-style-type: circle;"><li>OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.</li><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul></li><li>2+ years experience building and operating distributed backend services or large-scale data pipelines in a production environment.</li><li>Other Requirements: ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.</li><li>Experience with graph processing at scale, or with the storage patterns behind entity resolution over large account populations.</li><li>Background in trust and safety, anti-fraud, or platform abuse systems, including the operational side of enforcement and appeals.</li><li>Familiarity with Azure services, identity and tenant concepts, or API gateway and rate-limiting infrastructure.</li><li>Experience integrating with existing internal platforms and data estates, including schemas, data contracts, access controls, retention requirements and upstream service changes.</li></ul> <br><p>This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.</p><br><hr><br><p>Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
