RENÉE believes in empowering women to own and enjoy their bold, ambitious persona and let their glam do the talking.   Job Overview: We are looking for a Chief Accountant who will be responsible for the overall accounting function, financial reporting, statutory compliance, audits, financial controls and accounting operations of the organisation. The role requires a hands-on finance professional who can manage a high-growth environment, ensure accuracy and timely closure of books, strengthen financial controls and work closely with Business, Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, HR and Leadership teams. Department: Finance & Accounts   Location: Ahmedabad-Gujarat Employment Type: Full-Time   Key Responsibilities: 1. Accounting & Financial Reporting • Lead the end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping function. • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closures. • Review and approve journal entries, provisions, accruals, reconciliations and accounting adjustments. • Prepare and review P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and other financial statements. • Ensure proper accounting of revenue, discounts, returns, schemes, marketplace settlements and other business transactions. • Establish and maintain robust accounting processes and controls. 2. Audit & Compliance • Drive statutory, tax, internal and other audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations. • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act and other applicable statutory requirements. • Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors and other external stakeholders. • Ensure timely preparation and filing of statutory returns and regulatory requirements. • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails. Internal Controls & Process Improvement • Strengthen accounting policies, SOPs and internal financial controls. • Identify process gaps and implement corrective measures. • Drive automation and process improvements in accounting and reconciliation. • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and approval controls. • Support ERP implementation, process enhancements and finance digitisation initiatives. 4. Inventory & Cost Accounting • Oversee inventory accounting and periodic reconciliation between books, ERP and physical inventory. • Monitor inventory valuation, provisions, ageing, slow-moving and obsolete inventory. • Ensure appropriate accounting of purchase, landed cost, freight, warehousing and other inventory-related expenses. • Work closely with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams on inventory controls and reconciliation. 5. Working Capital & Cash Flow • Prepare cash flow forecasts and support treasury planning. • Monitor customer collections and vendor payment cycles. • Identify opportunities to improve cash conversion and working capital efficiency. 6. Team & Stakeholder Management • Lead and mentor the Accounts team. • Set clear responsibilities, timelines and performance expectations for the team. • Work closely with Finance, Business, Commercial, Supply Chain, HR, Admin and IT teams. • Partner with senior leadership on financial and operational matters. • Coordinate effectively with banks, auditors, consultants, vendors and other external stakeholders. Key Deliverables / Success Metrics • Timely and accurate monthly financial closure. • Accuracy and integrity of books of accounts. • Timely statutory and tax compliance. • Zero / minimal audit observations and timely closure of open points. • Improved receivables, payables and working capital management. • Strong inventory and financial controls. • Automation and reduction of manual accounting and reconciliation processes. Website: www.reneecosmetics.in (http://reneecosmetics.in)                Qualification & Skills: • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8–12 years of post-qualification experience. • Strong experience in accounting, financial reporting, taxation, audit and compliance. • Experience in FMCG, D2C, E-commerce, Retail, Consumer Brands or a fast-growing organisation will be preferred. • Strong understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax and Companies Act, SEBI listing requirements. • Experience handling marketplace, payment gateway and multi-channel reconciliations will be an advantage. • Strong knowledge of ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. • Should be hands-on, commercially aware and comfortable working with senior leadership.
