Job Requirements

Role Summary

The role focuses on the design, development and maintenance of the IoT Agent, a device-side software platform responsible for secure device connectivity, registration, provisioning, agent lifecycle management, remote operations, job orchestration, software updates, certificate management and device-cloud communication across multiple healthcare products.

The ideal candidate will possess strong C++ expertise, deep device-platform knowledge, strong Windows and Linux system understanding, and the ability to independently drive complex feature delivery in a distributed IoT environment. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in AI-driven Software Development Lifecycle (AISDLC) practices, leveraging modern AI engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Codex, and similar AI-assisted development platforms to accelerate design, implementation, code reviews, automation, troubleshooting, testing, and overall engineering productivity while maintaining high standards of security, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

· Lead technical design and implementation of IoT Agent features.

· Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews and technical decision-making.

· Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.

· Drive technical investigations, root-cause analysis and performance optimisation.

· Identify technical risks and define mitigation plans.

· Champion AI-Driven SDLC (AISDLC) practices by leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development efficiency, code quality, and delivery predictability.

IoT Agent Development

Design and implement capabilities related to:

· Device registration and provisioning

· Agent self-update and recovery workflows

· Remote command execution

· Device-cloud communication

· Certificate lifecycle management

· Job orchestration and state management

· File transfer and synchronization

· Agent configuration and lifecycle management

Quality Engineering & Automation

- Develop and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
- Design, implement, and enhance Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test automation frameworks and test suites.
- Drive automated testing across functional, integration, regression, and system validation scenarios.
- Collaborate with QA and V&V teams to establish test strategies and improve automation coverage.
- Ensure features meet quality, performance, scalability, and security requirements through continuous validation and testing.

Engineering Excellence

· Lead code reviews and mentor engineers.

· Drive quality, reliability and secure coding practices.

· Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, QA and DevOps teams.

· Participate in Agile planning, estimation and sprint execution.

· Ensure solutions meet maintainability, scalability and security requirements.

· Create, review, and maintain QMS deliverables and technical documentation, including software requirements, design specifications, traceability artifacts, risk assessments, verification documentation, and release records in compliance with HealthCare quality and regulatory processes.

Work Experience

Required Technical Skills

C++ Development

· 5+ years of software-development experience.

· Strong expertise in Modern C++ (C++14/17 or later).

· Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, STL, multithreading and concurrency, memory management, performance optimisation, debugging and profiling.

· Experience developing production-grade system software.

Windows and Linux System Expertise

Strong hands-on expertise with Windows and Linux operating systems, including system services, process and thread management, networking, security, certificate handling, diagnostics, performance analysis and production troubleshooting. Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex cross-platform system-level issues and drive reliable software delivery in production environments.

IoT and Device Platform Experience – Mandatory

· Experience developing device-side software running on Windows and/or Linux platforms.

· Experience designing, developing or supporting IoT or Edge Computing solutions.

· Experience with device-to-cloud communication architectures.

· Experience with remote device management and device lifecycle management.

· Experience implementing secure communication mechanisms using TLS, PKI and certificate-based authentication.

· Experience with MQTT or comparable messaging protocols used for connected-device communication.

· Understanding of reliability, resiliency and security considerations in connected-device environments.

Preferred Experience

· AWS or Azure cloud services

· Distributed systems

· REST APIs and microservices integration

· CI/CD and DevOps workflows

· Healthcare, medical-device or regulated software environments

· Medical device integration experience

· HTML5, CSS, Go
