Asset Management Transformation - Manager

We are seeking an experienced transformation consultant to join Grant Thornton's Consulting practice, with a dedicated focus on the Financial Services industry, particularly Asset Management and Asset Servicing.

You will support and lead transformation engagements for asset and investment managers, fund administrators, custodians, transfer agents and other securities-services organisations across traditional and alternative investments, including private equity, private credit and real estate structures.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with industry, operations, technology, data, risk and programme delivery specialists to help clients translate strategy into execution. You will support the design and delivery of operating model change, process improvement, technology transformation, regulatory initiatives, data modernisation and business change programmes.

This is an opportunity to work with industry-leading clients on some of the sector's most complex transformation programmes while further developing your expertise across operations, technology, data and regulatory change.

The successful candidate will combine strong consulting and delivery skills with a practical understanding of the investment and servicing lifecycle. Depending on your experience, you will manage workstreams or end-to-end engagements, build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and develop high-quality deliverables for Grant Thornton and our clients.

Roles & Responsibilities

Transformation Delivery: Lead and deliver asset management and asset servicing transformation programmes from mobilisation through implementation, transition and BAU handover

Industry-led Problem Solving: Apply asset management and servicing expertise to solve operational, process and organisational challenges.

Operating Model and Process Transformation: Design and implement target operating models, governance frameworks, controls and end-to-end processes.

Asset Management and Servicing Operations: Support change and transformation across functions including product, investment operations, fund accounting, transfer agency, AML/KYC, onboarding and reporting .

Technology, Data and Automation: Translate business requirements into technology-enabled solutions, supporting platform implementations, migrations, data transformation, automation and AI-driven improvements

Risk, Regulation and Controls: Embed regulatory, risk and control requirements into programme design and delivery within complex, regulated environments.

Programme Governance & Business Analysis: Establish effective governance and delivery frameworks, define business requirements, facilitate stakeholder workshops and develop data-driven recommendations and implementation roadmaps

Change & Stakeholder Management: Lead stakeholder engagement, communications, training and knowledge transfer activities to support successful adoption and sustainable outcomes .

Leadership & Client Relationship Management: Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality client outcomes.

Business Development & Industry Insight: Support proposals, tenders, client presentations and thought leadership while maintaining knowledge of industry, regulatory and technology development

Skills and Experience

Education and Certifications

- A third level degree, with a strong academic record.
- A recognised project, programme, change or business-analysis qualification is desirable
- Financial Services, investment, or accountancy qualifications would be advantageous

Experience and Competencies

4 to 8 years of relevant experience, depending on the level applied for, gained in consulting, transformation delivery, asset management, asset servicing or a related financial services environment.

Proven experience delivering transformation programmes or workstreams within Financial Services, particularly for asset management and asset servicing organisations.

Strong understanding of asset management and servicing operations, including areas such as fund administration, fund accounting, transfer agency, custody, investor onboarding, AML/KYC, investment operations, reporting or product transformation.

Experience across traditional and alternative investment products, including mutual funds, ETFs, private equity, private credit, real estate and fund-of-funds structures.

Demonstrated ability to lead complex change initiatives, including operating model redesign, process improvement, outsourcing oversight, operational resilience, regulatory change, and technology-enabled transformation.

Strong stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with experience influencing senior leadership and working across multidisciplinary teams in regulated environments.

Knowledge of relevant asset management regulatory frameworks, industry operating models and technology platforms is highly desirable
