Job Description – Purchase Manager (Capex / Projects)
Location: Bhat
Reports To (Administrative & Functional): HOD – Purchase
Team Size: 4 (Direct & Indirect Reports)
Major Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for end-to-end procurement and sourcing of Capex/Projects-related materials and services, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and compliant purchasing that supports organizational project timelines and capital investment goals.
Principal Accountabilities:
Lead and manage the Capex/Projects purchase team, driving performance and capability development.
Finalize and negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and conditions with vendors for project-related materials and services.
Ensure on-time delivery of project materials in line with defined lead times, minimizing project delays.
Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders (Projects, Engineering, Finance, Stores) and external stakeholders (vendors, contractors, service providers) to ensure seamless procurement execution.
Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors to strengthen the supply base and improve sourcing flexibility.
Ensure procurement compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
Respond to and resolve internal and Finance-related queries pertaining to purchase transactions and documentation.
Apply best-effort strategies to achieve Total Cost of Delivery (TCD) targets and drive continuous cost optimization.
Professional Qualifications:
B.E. (Electrical), MBA (Finance)
Experience Required:
22+ years of relevant experience in Capex/Projects Purchase, with a strong background in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional coordination for large-scale project procurement.
