In ARQUIMEA AEROSPACE DEFENCE & SECURITY develops safer and more reliable defense systems through technology, including unmanned aerial systems (UAVs), sensing systems, command and control software, and aiming systems .

We are looking for a High Speed hardware Desing Engineer to join our engineering team, working on the development of advanced electronic systems for aerospace, defence and other high-reliability applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of complex high-speed digital electronic boards, including systems based on high-performance FPGAs and adaptive SoCs.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Design complex high-speed digital electronic boards from requirements definition through schematic design, PCB layout supervision, manufacturing and bring-up.

· Design FPGA/SoC-based architectures using devices such as AMD/Xilinx Versal, UltraScale+ or equivalent high-performance devices.

· Define and review high-speed interfaces including DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, Ethernet, JESD204, SerDes and multi-gigabit transceivers.

· Perform or support Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis, including impedance control, termination, crosstalk, power distribution networks and decoupling strategies.

· Define PCB stack-ups, controlled-impedance structures, differential pairs and high-speed routing constraints.

· Design power architectures for high-performance FPGA/SoC devices, including multi-rail power supplies, sequencing and power monitoring.

· Select electronic components considering performance, availability, reliability and product requirements.

· Work closely with PCB layout engineers to ensure compliance with high-speed design constraints and manufacturing requirements.

· Support board bring-up, debugging, integration and functional verification using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and high-speed measurement equipment.

· Prepare and maintain hardware design documentation, design analyses and verification documentation.

· Participate in technical and design reviews throughout the product development lifecycle.

· Collaborate with FPGA, software, systems, mechanical, test and manufacturing teams.

EDUCATION & COMPETENCES

· Level – Required education degree:

Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Minimum required experience;

· +5 years of experience doing High Speed Hardware design

- Training/Specific knowledge required in;

· Solid experience in digital hardware and high-speed PCB design.

· Experience designing boards around complex FPGAs, SoCs or processors with high-speed interfaces.

· Strong knowledge of high-speed PCB design principles, including transmission lines, impedance matching, differential signalling, return paths, crosstalk and termination.

· Experience with DDR memory interfaces and multi-gigabit serial interfaces.

· Experience defining PCB stack-ups and routing constraints for complex multilayer PCBs.

· Good understanding of power supply and power distribution design for high-performance digital devices.

· Experience with professional PCB design tools such as Siemens Xpedition, Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro or equivalent.

· Hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging and hardware verification.

· Ability to read and interpret FPGA/SoC datasheets, hardware design guides, reference designs and interface specifications.

- Training/Specific knowledge required in:

· Previous experience designing hardware based on AMD/Xilinx Versal or UltraScale+ devices.

· Experience with high-speed SerDes, including transceivers operating at multi-gigabit data rates.

· Experience performing Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulations using tools such as HyperLynx, Cadence Sigrity, Ansys SIwave or equivalent.

· Knowledge of EMC/EMI design techniques and design for environmental robustness.

· Experience with aerospace and defence electronics and high-reliability product development.

· Familiarity with relevant aerospace and defence standards, such as ECSS, MIL-STD, DO-160 or equivalent.

· Experience with EEE component selection for high-reliability applications.

· Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT) and PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes

- Languages and other requirements

o Proficient in English (written and spoken). Spanish is a plus.

o Open-minded and ready to be challenged in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary and multinational environment.

o Willingness to travel occasionally to Spain for short business trips (project meetings, reviews, lab work, etc.).

The position is located in our Headquarters of Bangalore (INDIA).
