The Role
We are expanding the Release Team to support an evolving deployment pipeline as we scale toward 8 production releases per week across international markets. As a Release Coordinator / Officer, you will play a central operational role in managing production environments and deployment lifecycles for code that powers our core International Business engine.
This role bridges release operations with internal tool engineering, shifting away from legacy terminal-based deployment scripts toward modern, automated deployment platforms. You will work closely with Release Management, Platform Services, DBA, and DevOps teams to maintain high availability, orchestrate hotfixes, and handle deployment pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Release Operations & Monitoring: Coordinate, approve, and execute production deployments across the IBE release train. Monitor business-critical release channels and maintain deployment guardrails.
- Incident & Hotfix Management: Handle urgent hotfix, bugfix, and delayed-picking requests; maintain operational readiness to manage production rollbacks and mitigate incident risks.
- Tool Development & Automation: Assist in building and maintaining internal deployment applications, replacing terminal-based processes by integrating Jenkins, release collectors, and internal developer tools.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Facilitate communication between Development, Platform Services, Database (DBA), and Deployment (DO) teams to ensure seamless releases.
- Documentation & Metrics: Maintain release notes, manage Jira deployment flows, and contribute to Incident Post-Mortem reviews.
Requirements
- Strong technical background with direct experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Jira).
- Developer-platform hybrid skillset capable of writing scripts and contributing to internal developer tooling.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure with a calm, analytical mindset during live production incidents.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills in English to align technical teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders.
Meritorious
- Prior hands-on experience as a Release Officer or within the IBE release ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Docker, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), or database script execution.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Employment Structure:
50% to 100% Allocation
Initial Onboarding & Integration (First 9 Months): 100% Full-Time Commitment
Ongoing Role: Flexible allocation (a minimum of 50%) based on team needs and candidate capacity.
