Key responsibilities
As Business Development Lead, Aid & Relief, you will support multiple stakeholders enabling them to succeed on short-term and long-term goals. You will build strong relationships with senior levels with our customers and internally at Maersk. You will develop new business and support organic growth on existing business in close collaboration with Maersk’s global account teams to deliver sustainable growth.
- Develop and execute the growth strategy for the Aid & Relief sector aligned with global business objectives.
- Identify emerging humanitarian, development, and donor-funded opportunities globally.
- Build a qualified pipeline of strategic opportunities and maintain ownership throughout the business development lifecycle.
- Monitor geopolitical, humanitarian, donor, and funding trends to identify future growth areas and commercial opportunities.
- Represent the company as a sector ambassador at industry forums, humanitarian conferences, donor events, and customer engagements.
- Proactively engage prospective customers to understand operational challenges and logistics requirements.
- Identify opportunities where integrated logistics, transportation, warehousing, customs, project logistics, supply chain management, and emergency response capabilities can create customer value.
- Establish relationships with key decision-makers, procurement stakeholders, logistics leaders, and program management teams across the humanitarian ecosystem.
- Build strategic engagement plans for priority organizations and opportunities.
- Lead complex RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, framework agreements, and donor-funded procurement opportunities.
- Coordinate cross-functional bid teams involving operations, pricing, procurement, legal, compliance, finance, and product specialists.
- Develop compelling win strategies that clearly articulate value propositions and competitive differentiation.
- Ensure commercial proposals meet customer requirements while balancing profitability, risk management, and operational feasibility.

The strong candidate has:
- Proven experience in business development, key client management, or strategic sales within Aid & Relief.
- Relevant experience from logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, shipping or a related industry.
- Knowledge of Aid & Relief supply chains, humanitarian organisations, donor-funded programmes or public procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop senior customer relationships and convert customer needs into measurable commercial value.
- Experience leading complex tenders, commercial negotiations and multi-country customer engagements.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including revenue, profitability, pricing and contractual considerations.
- Solid understanding of logistics products, international trade, cross-trade movements and Incoterms.
- Excellent stakeholder-management internally and externally, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence across organisational and geographical boundaries.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and willingness to travel internationally when required.
- Availability to travel 15 - 25 days a year.

You will join a motivated and passioned Business Development Team within Aid & Relief at Maersk Project Logistics. This role emphasises on applying in-depth commercial, customer and industry knowledge. In this role you will collaborate with many stakeholders to create organic growth and acquisitions.
