About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Paralegal to support the day-to-day legal operations of Alaan’s B2B fintech business across the GCC.
You will support the Legal team across commercial, corporate, regulatory and legal operations matters. The role will manage assigned workflows and administrative processes; substantive legal analysis, non-standard drafting, negotiations and final approvals will remain with the appropriate member of the Legal team.
This is a strong opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who wants broad exposure, high ownership, and a clear path to growth in a fintech environment.
What you'll do
- Contract Administration and Matter Support
- Manage the intake and administrative triage of legal requests, ensuring that instructions and supporting documents are complete before routing matters according to agreed priorities and timelines.
- Prepare initial drafts of routine documents using approved templates and playbooks, including NDAs, order forms, addenda, vendor agreements and customer documents.
- Conduct initial completeness and consistency checks, identify deviations from approved templates or playbooks, and refer those deviations to the Legal team for review.
- Coordinate internal approvals, signatures, filing and distribution, while maintaining a complete record of the request, relevant approvals and final executed documents.
- Monitor renewal dates, expiry dates, notice periods and contractual follow-up actions, and notify the Legal team of upcoming deadlines.
- Legal Operations and Knowledge Management
- Maintain the legal review register, contract repository, vendor and matter trackers, corporate calendar and other legal records, ensuring that information remains complete, accurate and current.
- Apply consistent naming, filing, version-control and access standards across legal documents and repositories.
- Support the maintenance of approved templates, playbooks, checklists and precedent libraries under the Legal team’s direction.
- Assist with legal workflow automation and approved AI-enabled processes, including conducting initial quality checks and ensuring that outputs requiring legal judgement are referred for review.
- Compile status reports covering open matters, responsible stakeholders, deadlines, blockers, ageing and required follow-up actions.
- Corporate and Regulatory Support
- Assist with entity maintenance and the preparation and organisation of corporate records, board and shareholder documents, powers of attorney, licences, KYC packages and required filings.
- Support regulatory submissions, licence maintenance, audits and due diligence exercises by collecting, checking, organising and tracking supporting information and evidence.
- Maintain checklists and calendars for corporate, regulatory and filing requirements, and notify the Legal team of upcoming deadlines or missing information.
- Conduct targeted legal and regulatory research under the Legal team’s direction and prepare concise summaries identifying the relevant sources and key findings for review.
- Cross Functional and Administrative Support
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain complete instructions, approvals and supporting materials required by the Legal team.
- Communicate applicable legal processes, documentation requirements and matter status using approved guidance, while referring substantive or non-standard legal questions to the appropriate lawyer.
- Follow up proactively on outstanding actions and deadlines, and promptly alert the Legal team to identified gaps, delays or potential risks.
- Support legal and project meetings by preparing relevant materials, recording action items and monitoring their completion.
- Handle confidential, personal and commercially sensitive information in accordance with applicable policies and access requirements.
