Substation Drafter Start Your Career in Power Infrastructure Design! Are you looking to launch your drafting career and gain hands-on experience in the power industry? This entry-level role is designed for candidates with a foundation in CAD drafting who are eager to expand their skills. In particular, this position will focus on Autodesk Inventor! You’ll receive mentorship, training, and exposure to advanced tools such as Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation. Over time, you’ll build expertise in substation design and utility projects while working in a supportive, professional environment. What You’ll Do

- Assist in developing and maintaining Inventor drawings for electrical substation projects
- Revise and update design documents under the guidance of experienced designers and engineers
- Learn to use Autodesk Inventor and other CAD platforms to support layout and modeling efforts
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design objectives
- Follow company standards and quality expectations
- Support multiple projects while building organizational and time-management skills
- Participate in project meetings and training sessions
- Contribute to a safe, team-oriented work environment

What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications:

- Some experience using Autodesk Inventor (school projects are acceptable!)
- Basic proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or similar)
- Associate degree, certificate, or coursework in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines with guidance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Exposure to Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling tools in an electrical or substation environment
- Familiarity with electrical or utility projects (coursework or internships welcome)
- Interest in power systems, infrastructure, or engineering design
- Desire to grow into advanced CAD and substation design responsibilities

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buford, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
