TITLE AND CLASSIFICATION: Team Lead, Facility Operations

REPORTING LOCATION : Rockville, MD

REPORTING MANAGER: Director, Facility and Vivarium Operations

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM to 5 PM

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Support in vivo oncology studies through equipment management; facility operations and maintenance; equipment receipt and installation; and supply receipt and distribution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee maintenance, repair, calibration, and testing of equipment

- Coordinate and oversee end-users and waste haulers to manage waste streams

- Coordinate and oversee end-users and monitoring companies to maintain equipment set points

- Responsible for facility maintenance and upkeep

- Oversee supply receipt and distribution systems and processes

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Demonstrable strong technical and mechanical aptitude

- Ability to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a strong sense of accountability, integrity and confidentiality

- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound and accurate judgment in making timely decisions

- Superior planning, organizational, computer, written, and verbal communication skills

- Ability and willingness to respond to after hours/off hours equipment emergencies

- Ability and eagerness to assist with other duties in a dynamic environment

- Ability to observe safety and security procedures and relevant regulations and laws

- Ability to observe and understand regulatory requirements related to equipment management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 2 years of directly related experience

- Expe rience in contract research animal facility, laboratory, or industry setting required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Must be able to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel.

- Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer in a typical office environment in a multi-level facility

- Some activities require repetitive motion and reaching, pulling or pushing.

- In carrying out the duties of the job there will be frequent exposure to fumes and chemical hazards.

- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
