Value Add Applications Manager

Position: Value Add Application Manager

Reports to: General Manager

Assessment: Value added services and assemblies are an increasingly important segment of our business. The marketplace is looking for solutions and we need to continue our historical ability to provide more than just products. The VAAM position has been created in recognition of this dynamic.

Objectives: •

·        Drive profitable growth in this segment through process improvements and managing the workflow.

·        Act as the Value Add specialist for sales to work with during customer interactions to identify and formulated best and profitable solutions.

·        Increase participation of Outside sales group in developing Value-added opportunities.

·         Decrease time commitment to manage projects of Outside Sales after sale by creating transition documents and information flows for production and engineering.

·        Act as Pneumatics Application Specialist when there is not a dedicated pneumatics specialist on staff.

Job Description :

• Review current Value Add processes with the current Managers and other stakeholders.

• Manage the design and documentation processes (design drawings).

• Hold kickoff meetings and formal design reviews with sign-off.

• Improve the coordination of the purchasing, production, and assembly processes. Define and update project milestone dates in the production meetings.

• Validation. Define the runoff requirements and procedures. (e.g., run each robot and conveyor before shipment. Require a multi-disciplinary sign-off before the shipment of ACBs.

• Make better use of standard components and assemblies. Sensors, air prep, valve packages, etc. should be standard common packages, deviate as required.

• Better integrate VA in CRM system

• Work to Improve the overall project documentation process (quoting materials, photos, specs, preliminary BOMs, etc.).

·        Consolidate the file management structure of projects.

• Continuously improve the VA project management flow (e.g., Align work with Purchasing Manager to ensure components are ordered and scheduled to arrive in line with the ship date).

• Work to streamline pre-quote time investment (e.g., reliable estimation tools).

• Streamline and document the process to confirm conformance of offline card products and services used in VA assemblies.

• Continuously Develop a check out procedure prior to VA solutions shipping out to customers.

• Work with the engineering team to implement improvements to existing assembly processes.
