Assistant Custodian

Job Overview

Preparing the church building for ministry is a vital role in the operations of the church!

Our facilities team is looking for team members to serve behind the scenes so that attendees and guests can focus on worship, discipleship, Bible study, and other aspects of ministry.  Schedules are flexible!

The Assistant Custodian is responsible for executing weekly church cleaning tasks. This includes general typical cleaning and operating cleaning equipment.

Not only do we need to be ready for Sunday, but ministry happens all week and all year round!

Essential Job Functions
• Keeps building clean and orderly condition.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors/rugs.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation
for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power
machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to
building operating systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Past
cleaning experience is preferred but not required.

This job is part time, hours to be determined during the interview process, range from 10 to 20 hours per week, including weekend work.
