Academic Advisor

## Position Summary
Provide academic advisement to current graduate students in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. Interpret applicable University policies and procedures, program requirements, acceptable electives, and alternative/substitute courses. Assist with planning and implementation of recruitment and orientation activities. Facilitate seminars and events that enhance the academic experience and professional development of graduate students. Interface with appropriate University offices and departments to expedite processing of on-line graduation tracking, transfer credit evaluations and reviews, program development and substitutions. Respond to inquiries concerning the School, department, and program offerings.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education, Psychology, Counseling, or other related fields.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education, Psychology, Counseling, or other related fields preferred.
Required Experience: 2+ years Student advisement, recruitment, admissions, counseling, or related experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work both independently as well as part of a team; ability to plan and deliver special events and seminars. Proficiency with various computer applications. Demonstrated commitment to student success.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage several administrative tasks at once. Follow detailed workflows. Work collaboratively with department and campus partners. Familiarity with, or comfortable learning, new technologies. Google Suite, Excel, caseload management systems such as Starfish and PeopleSoft

## Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $84,700.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
