Intensive Family Preservation/Reunification Skill Builder

Job Summary

An Intensive Family Preservation/Reunification Skill Builder at Jenda Family Services provides direct services to children, youth, and families involved with the child protection and juvenile justice systems. IFP Skill Builders work with a licensed mental health professional as a team. IFP Teams provide services to preserve a family in crisis while IFR works with a family as a child is in the process of being reunified with parents.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Provide in-home crisis management and intervention services to families along with a licensed therapist.

- Provide individualized support, education, and empowerment to families.

- Clearly communicate expectations and provide redirection when necessary.

- Prepare timely and thorough documentation of client progress in accordance with organizational standards.

- Consult regularly with supervisors regarding case status, progress, barriers, and successes.

- Guide clients in developing strategies to address court-mandated and family-identified goals to improve family functioning.

- Maintain confidential client records and uphold client confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.

- Represent Jenda Family Services in a professional and positive manner.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

- This is a field-based position where staff travel to and work primarily in family homes, potentially encountering unclean environments and exposure to smoke, insects, or clutter.

- Daily travel exposes workers to outdoor weather conditions.

- Staff must be willing to travel in and around Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding counties for sessions.

Position Type:

- This position is considered a Variable Hour position with weekly hours ranging from 20-40 hours.

- Expect part-time hours throughout the 3-4-week training period. Hours can be built up to full-time once out of training.

- Hours are assigned based on staff availability and case referral acceptance.

- Rotating on-call availability.

Pay

- Starting pay range is $22-$23 per hour based on education and experience.

- Reviews and potential raises at 6 months of employment and every year from hire anniversary.

- Staff vehicles must be registered and insured as required by law.

- Backgrounds checks must be passed successfully, and valid drivers license with no more than 3 points is also required for employment.

Education and Experience (one of the following must apply):

- Bachelors Degree in a human services, psychology, or related field.

- Be within two semesters of graduating with a Bachelors degree in a human services, psychology, or a related field.

- Associates degree in a human-services related field with 1 year of related work or volunteer experience.

- High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of related work of volunteer experience.

Related work or volunteer experience can include but is not limited to human development, working with children and families, working with low income or poverty populations, or assisting in daily living skills.

Physical Requirements:

- Frequently drive to and from client homes in personal vehicle, with some instances of transporting clients.

- Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
