Overview

This is a hybrid position. Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

The Annual Campaign and Donor Stewardship Manager leads the Central Health Foundation’s annual giving and donor stewardship programs. The position develops and executes year-round, multichannel fundraising strategies designed to acquire, retain, renew, and upgrade donors while building broad-based philanthropic support for Central Health’s mission and community impact. The Manager develops annual campaign calendars, audience segments, donor journeys, appeals, giving-day strategies, recurring-giving initiatives, newsletters, and stewardship touchpoints. The role uses donor and campaign data to evaluate performance, improve retention and conversion, strengthen return on investment, and identify donors with potential for increased engagement. The Manager collaborates with Major Gifts, Foundation Operations, Communications, Finance, Strategy, Strategic Alignment and Impact, and other partners to ensure donor communications, acknowledgments, stewardship activities, and fundraising records are timely, accurate, coordinated, and consistent with donor intent. Qualified donors are transitioned to the major-gifts program through an established handoff and relationship-assignment process.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Annual Campaign Strategy and Execution:- Develop, implement, and evaluate the Foundation’s annual giving strategy in alignment with approvedfundraising priorities and revenue goals.- Build and manage a year-round fundraising calendar that may include direct-response appeals, giving days,renewals, recurring-giving campaigns, newsletters, special initiatives, and stewardship communications.- Establish campaign objectives, audience strategies, schedules, budgets, response goals, and performancemeasures.- Coordinate the development, review, approval, launch, and follow-up of annual campaign activities.- Partner with Communications and other stakeholders to ensure campaign messages accurately reflect CentralHealth priorities, community needs, donor impact, and approved branding.- Manage multiple concurrent campaigns, deadlines, vendors, and deliverables.- Recommend adjustments to campaign strategy based on performance, donor behavior, organizational priorities,and available resources.Donor Segmentation and Journey Management:- Develop and maintain donor segments based on giving history, frequency, recency, amount, interests,engagement, communication preferences, and other relevant information.- Design donor journeys and engagement strategies for new, recurring, renewing, lapsed, sustainer, mid-level, andother annual donors.- Develop acquisition, renewal, reactivation, retention, and upgrade strategies for assigned donor groups.- Coordinate personalized and segmented communications across appropriate channels.- Monitor donor movement and engagement to identify opportunities for increased participation or upgradedgiving.- Maintain clear criteria and workflows for transitioning qualified donors into the major-gifts pipeline.- Partner with Major Gifts to confirm relationship ownership, next steps, and stewardship responsibilities whendonors are reassigned.Digital and Multichannel Fundraising:- Plan and coordinate fundraising across email, web, direct mail, social media, digital advertising, text, events, andother approved channels.- Partner with Communications and Information Technology resources to develop and maintain effective onlinegiving pages, campaign landing pages, forms, and digital donor experiences.- Coordinate campaign content, audience lists, schedules, testing, approvals, and deployment.- Use testing and performance analysis to improve subject lines, messaging, calls to action, giving-pageperformance, response rates, and conversion.- Monitor campaign delivery, donor response, technical issues, and other factors affecting performance.- Ensure digital fundraising activity complies with privacy, consent, accessibility, brand, security, andcommunication requirements.- Coordinate vendors and external partners supporting annual campaign production or digital fundraising, asassigned.Donor Acknowledgment and Stewardship:- Develop and maintain consistent donor acknowledgment and stewardship practices across the Foundation.- Coordinate timely acknowledgments, receipts, thank-you communications, impact updates, renewal reminders,recognition, and other donor touchpoints.- Develop stewardship calendars and communication plans that reflect donor segments, gift levels, interests,restrictions, and engagement history.- Partner with Strategic Alignment and Impact, Communications, program leaders, and other stakeholders todevelop accurate and meaningful donor impact content.- Monitor stewardship commitments and follow up with responsible partners to support timely completion.- Ensure stewardship activity and donor communications are accurately documented in the Foundation’s CRM.- Identify and escalate concerns involving delayed acknowledgments, donor dissatisfaction, missed commitments,donor intent, or inaccurate information.Donor Retention, Upgrades, and Pipeline Development:- Develop strategies to improve donor retention, renewal, recurring giving, reactivation, and upgrade rates.- Identify annual and mid-level donors demonstrating increased capacity, interest, or engagement.- Partner with the Senior Director of Major Gifts to establish qualification criteria and transition appropriate donorsinto the major-gifts portfolio.- Support donor research, engagement history review, and preliminary qualification activities.- Monitor donor movement between annual, recurring, mid-level, and major-gift programs.- Coordinate communications and relationship assignments to avoid duplicate or conflicting donor outreach.- Maintain stewardship continuity when donor ownership transitions between fundraising programs.CRM, Reporting, and Performance Improvement:- Maintain accurate campaign, donor, appeal, response, preference, and stewardship information in theFoundation’s CRM.- Partner with Foundation Operations to establish effective processes for donor records, gift processing,acknowledgments, list management, data quality, and reporting.- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards covering campaign revenue, participation, donor acquisition,renewal, retention, upgrades, recurring giving, average gift, digital conversion, cost, and return on investment.- Analyze campaign and donor data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.- Provide regular performance updates, forecasts, and recommendations to Foundation leadership.- Develop and maintain templates, calendars, workflows, service expectations, and reference materials supportingannual giving and stewardship.- Evaluate fundraising processes and recommend improvements that strengthen donor experience, efficiency, dataintegrity, and results.Cross-Functional and External Coordination:- Partner with Foundation Strategy and Central Health leaders to ensure annual campaign priorities are approved,fundable, and supported by credible information.- Collaborate with Communications on campaign messaging, content, editorial standards, brand alignment, anddistribution.- Coordinate with Strategic Alignment and Impact on donor-supported program information, outcomes, stories,and stewardship materials.- Partner with Foundation Operations and Finance regarding gift processing, receipts, reconciliation, restrictedfunds, and donor records.- Coordinate with Major Gifts and Grants when donor, corporate, or foundation relationships overlap acrossfundraising channels.- Lead assigned annual giving and stewardship projects and coordinate vendors, consultants, volunteers, ortemporary resources within delegated authority.- Represent the Foundation at donor, campaign, community, or philanthropic activities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations, business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, or a related field. - Required

- Master's Degree (higher degree accepted) in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, marketing, business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, or a related field. - Preferred

Work Experience:

- 5 years of progressively responsible experience in annual giving, donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, development, direct response, digital fundraising, donor communications, or a related field. - Required

- Experience developing and executing multichannel fundraising campaigns. Experience with donor segmentation, acquisition, renewal, retention, recurring giving, reactivation, or upgrade strategies. - Required

- Experience developing donor communications, appeals, acknowledgments, stewardship content, or donor journeys. - Required

- Experience using a fundraising CRM or donor database to manage campaigns, donor activity, lists, and reporting. - Required

- Experience analyzing fundraising performance, donor behavior, campaign conversion, or return on investment. - Required

- Experience coordinating work across Communications, Operations, Finance, vendors, and other stakeholders. - Required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong knowledge of annual giving, donor stewardship, direct-response fundraising, and donorlifecycle management.Knowledge of donor segmentation, acquisition, retention, renewal, recurring giving, reactivation, andupgrade strategies.Ability to plan and execute coordinated multichannel fundraising campaigns.Strong donor-centered writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills.Ability to translate healthcare priorities, community needs, and outcomes into clear and compellingdonor communications.Strong project-management, organization, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.Ability to analyze campaign data, donor behavior, conversion, retention, cost, and return oninvestment.Working knowledge of CRM systems, online giving platforms, email tools, reporting systems, andrelated technology.Ability to maintain accurate donor records and manage confidential donor information withdiscretion.Strong collaboration and relationship-management skills.Ability to coordinate responsibilities across fundraising, communications, operations, finance,strategy, and program functions.Working knowledge of donor intent, acknowledgments, recognition, privacy, consent, accessibility,and ethical fundraising practices.Demonstrated commitment to health equity, donor trust, transparency, and public accountability.
