Position Summary

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer II to join a high-performing technology team responsible for building and enhancing modern, scalable digital solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in React.js development and significant experience building backend services using Java (Spring Boot), with some exposure to Kotlin considered a plus. This role requires a collaborative engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality software, leveraging modern development practices, and utilizing AI-powered tools to improve productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain modern web applications using React.js and TypeScript.

Build and support scalable backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot).

Contribute to and maintain services written in Kotlin where applicable.

Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.

Work with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, to support application data requirements.

Collaborate with product owners, architects, designers, and engineering teams to deliver business solutions.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.

Troubleshoot and resolve application performance, scalability, and reliability issues.

Contribute to application architecture, technical design discussions, and technology decisions.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve efficiency while maintaining code quality and engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with React.js and modern frontend development.

Strong experience developing backend applications using Java, preferably with Spring Boot.

Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.

Experience working with NoSQL databases.

Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture patterns, and modern development principles.

Experience working in Agile development environments.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TypeScript.

Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related Java ecosystem technologies.

Exposure to or experience with Kotlin development.

Experience with MongoDB.

Familiarity with Redux and state management concepts.

Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Payments, or FinTech environments.

Previous experience supporting American Express initiatives or platforms.

Understanding of responsive web design and modern UI development practices.

Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging technologies.
