About this role
Description
AWS Developer Experience is looking for a Community Manager to own the community ecosystem and partnership strategy for the AWS Builder Loft in São Paulo. Builder Lofts are physical developer community spaces where builders come together for hands-on workshops, hackathons, technical talks, mentorship, and networking.
This role is critical for establishing the Builder Loft as a trusted home for São Paulo’s developer community through proactive, structured partnerships and programming that drives sustained engagement and growth. You will be actively building a pipeline of recurring local tech events, managing strategic partnerships with developer communities, technology companies, VCs, accelerators, and academic institutions, and coordinating with AWS internal teams to deliver high-quality experiences.
This is a high-impact role that requires a community builder who combines genuine developer community credibility with operational rigor, thinks locally while connecting globally, and understands what makes São Paulo's tech ecosystem distinct. We’re looking for someone who has the ability to build community playbooks, mechanisms, and scalable frameworks that allow the Loft to operate with consistency and authenticity. You leverage existing community networks and grassroots relationships to multiply your impact.
You will work cross-functionally with Solution Architects, Developer Advocates, Startup Teams, Marketing, and Partner Network teams to build repeatable community development strategies for a rapidly scaling global program.
Key job responsibilities
- Own programming strategy end to end: design and curate an event calendar with relevant content to the local developer audience
- Develop and execute a community recruitment and growth strategy targeting notable local community leaders, developers, AI builders, students, and early-career professionals in the São Paulo market
- Establish, develop and maintain a partnership network of recurring community event organizers
- Implement structured frameworks, programs, playbooks and mechanisms to scale engagement with hundredths of communities
- Maintain active communication with Builder Loft event organizer and attendee community
- Gather ongoing community feedback, iterate on programming, and share lessons with Builder Loft peers in other cities
- Own community engagement metrics tracking and optimization
- Support event management operations
- Identify opportunities to amplify community voices through AWS marketing channels (e.g. blog posts, video content, customer stories, and social media)
- Support content curation by identifying trending topics, community interests, and builder needs;
- Create online content enabling awareness of the Builder Loft and efficient community engagement
- Collaborate with Marketing on community channel promotion, audience targeting, and co-marketing with partners
