About this role

Summary:

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator is responsible for confidentially maintaining accrurate records for all employees in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Working with human resources, he/she will assist in maintaining an attractive portfolio of benefits for cooperative employees and help with developing policies to support changes in human resources procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, sick time, overtime, and personal time from time sheets and other records.

- Enters data into computer files and computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.

- Resolving issues employees have with timesheets and other payroll matters.

- Ensuring each payroll is completed on-time and with the utmost attention to accuracy and details within.

- Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.

- Maintains and reconciles payroll records as to deductions and benefits such as insurance, taxes and retirement.

- Work with benefit providers to ensure compliance with vendor, federal, state, and local laws.

- Keeps records of payroll changes and issues.

- Collaborate with human resources department to maintain employee data.

- Administer payroll, benefits, and workers compensation programs.

- Prepares and issues direct deposits, tax deposits, insurance premiums, and other deduction deposits.

- Complete year-end payroll compliance, including but not limited to W-2, 1094-C, and 1095-C compliance, accuracy, and distribution.

- Assist human resources with new employee orientations company wide.

- Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Working knowledge of Paycom software. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting software and payroll systems.

Certificates and Licenses:

No certifications are needed. Payroll certification is preferred.
