Sr. Logistics Planner

Sr. Logistics Planner (20-Month Maternity Leave Contract)

As our Sr. Logistics Planner you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the flow of goods, materials, and services through the supply chain. This role involves planning, forecasting, and analysing logistics and inventory processes, with a strong focus on inventory accuracy, lot level integrity, and freshness, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations and growing our mission to Kick Sugar, Keep Candy!

This role reports to Manager, Logistics and will hybrid in Vancouver, BC. To support business priorities, core hours of attendance will be required from 9 am PST to 3 pm PST on in-office days. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

We anticipate this role will begin on Nov 2, 2026, and continue through to June 30, 2028.

How You Will Support Our Mission (Responsibilities):

- Develop and implement logistics plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to coordinate transportation, inventory, distribution needs and WMS needs.

- Monitor and track shipments, ensuring they are delivered on time and in full (OTIF).

- Manage cross border shipments, maintaining working familiarity with FDA. regulations and requirements. This includes the overseeing of the customer clearance process.

- Review and manage inventory levels, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and minimizing stockouts or overstock situations.

- Manage inventory on a FEFO basis, ensuring our warehouse partners consistently ship first expired, first out.

- Oversee lot level inventory management and reconciliation across all locations.

- Identify and resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, or other logistics disruptions.

- Manage reverse logistics, disposal and donation orders from request through to completion.

- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation related to shipping schedules, inventory levels, and delivery milestones.

- Manage vendor relationships to ensure that logistics partners meet company performance standards.

- Support in sourcing reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions.

- Analyse transportation routes, selection of logistics options and supply chain efficiency to optimize logistics operations.

- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement in logistics performance.

- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and technologies that impact logistics operations.

- Collaborate closely with 3PL partners to ensure inventory and shipping accuracy.

- Complete month end reconciliation of ERP against all 3PL systems.

- Analyze freight and warehouse costs and their impact on overall spend.

- Travel to 3PLs for facility and process reviews.

- Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience):

- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

- 5+ years experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management, including at least 2 years owning inventory or logistics planning end to end.

- Experience with Supply Chain Management software (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems), with experience reconciling inventory between an ERP and external partners at month end Netsuite experience is a strong asset.

- Strong understanding of transportation modes, inventory management, and distribution strategies, including how routing and mode decisions affect landed cost.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into a recommendation.

- Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the judgment to re-prioritize when plans change and still hit deadlines.

- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets) applied to freight cost analysis, budget to actual variance, and KPI reporting. Claude skills is an asset.

- Clear verbal and written communication with internal teams, carriers, brokers, and vendors.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.

- Ability to travel within Canada and the US 1 to 2 times per year.

Compensation and Sweet Perks (Benefits):
The approximate base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. The actual base salary will be based on various factors, including t he candidates level of skills, experience and education aligned with the needs of the role, budget and market. This position is eligible for participation in a bonus program.
