Summary
The Adjunct Faculty member at Thomas Jefferson University is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in assigned courses across designated academic programs. This role involves developing and facilitating engaging learning experiences, supporting student success, and assessing academic performance in alignment with university standards. The adjunct instructor collaborates with program leadership to ensure curriculum relevance and rigor while maintaining compliance with institutional policies. Candidates are expected to bring subject matter expertise and a commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching practices. This position may involve teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in a flexible, part-time capacity.

Job Duties
- Deliver instruction for assigned courses using established curricula, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to engage diverse learners in both in-person and/or online environments

- Develop and implement lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives, ensuring content is current, relevant, and reflective of industry standards and academic best practices

- Evaluate and provide timely, constructive feedback on student performance, monitor academic progress, and offer guidance or interventions to support student achievement and retention

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date course records, including attendance, grades, syllabi, and required documentation, in accordance with university policies and accreditation standards

- Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, curriculum reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to program quality, student outcomes, and institutional effectiveness

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area
- Less than 1 year Demonstrated subject matter expertise with prior teaching, training, or professional experience in a related field
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse student populations

- Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) and instructional technologies commonly used in academia

- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices, academic integrity, and student success

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree

- Doctorate
- Less than 1 year teaching in higher education or adult learning environments, including online, hybrid, or in-person formats preferred

Additional Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications, licensure, or industry experience may be required or preferred based on the specific course or discipline

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
