About the Role

As a Structured Recess Instructor, you will help create an organized, energetic, and welcoming recess experience for elementary and middle school students. You'll lead games and activities, encourage positive interactions, and help maintain a safe environment where students can enjoy being active.

What You'll Do:

- Foster Fun and Safety: Create and maintain a lively, inclusive playground environment where safety and enjoyment go hand-in-hand. Organize and lead games and activities for 20+ students.

- Innovate Play: Coordinate the "game of the day" and keep recess exciting with a variety of popular activities that engage all students.

- Promote Positive Play: Encourage safe, healthy play and positive conflict resolution by modeling good behavior and actively participating in activities.

- Inspire Engagement: Actively engage a diverse group of students in respectful and inclusive play, ensuring everyone feels welcome and involved.

- Teach with Confidence: Deliver Physical Education lessons confidently across multiple grade levels, fostering physical development and teamwork.

What We're Looking For:

- A genuine interest in working with children and leading games or physical activities.

- Previous experience working with children in a school, recreation, coaching, camp, or similar setting preferred.

- Ability to confidently manage and engage groups of students.

- Comfortable working with students across elementary and middle school grade levels.

- Strong communication, patience, and positive behavior-management skills.

- Reliable transportation to the assigned school location.

- Current government-issued photo identification, such as a valid driver's license or state ID.

- Ability to successfully complete a required criminal background check.

Details:

- Position: Structured Recess Program Instructor

- Pay: $25.00 per hour

- Estimated Start Date: First week of November 2026

- Expected End Date: June 2027

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 10:00 AM–12:30 PM

- Job Type: Part-time, Seasonal
