Sourcing Manager

Huntsman is seeking a Sourcing Manager supporting the Procurement organization located in the United States. This position will report to the Procurement Leadership Team.

Job Scope

The Sourcing Manager will lead strategic sourcing activities for assigned raw material and chemical categories. This role is responsible for developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, leading negotiations, and delivering value through cost optimization, supply assurance, contract management, and risk mitigation. The position works closely with Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Technology, Quality, and Legal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.

In summary, as the Sourcing Manager, you will:

- Manage assigned chemical and raw material categories and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business priorities, operating requirements, and financial objectives.
- Develop and maintain category strategies utilizing spend analysis, demand forecasting, supplier capabilities, market dynamics, cost drivers, logistics considerations, and risk assessments.
- Lead RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and sourcing initiatives to support category objectives and business requirements.
- Develop negotiation strategies and lead commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, and sustainable value.
- Analyze cost structures and develop total cost of ownership models to support sourcing decisions.
- Monitor market intelligence including feedstock trends, supplier capacity, pricing indices, and supply-demand conditions and translate findings into sourcing recommendations.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance expectations, contractual commitments, and corrective action plans.
- Develop and implement supply assurance and risk mitigation strategies, including alternate sourcing options and continuity plans.
- Provide market insights, pricing forecasts, savings estimates, and scenario analyses to support budgeting and business planning activities.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align sourcing strategies and communicate recommendations to management.
- Ensure sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, delegated authority requirements, and applicable regulatory and trade requirements.
- Utilize digital tools, analytics, and technology solutions to improve sourcing effectiveness and decision-making.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, an Associate Degree or Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Typically 6–8 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, chemical trading, supply chain, or related commercial disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading sourcing events, supplier negotiations, commercial evaluations, and contract implementation.
- Working knowledge of chemical or industrial markets, cost structures, market indices, and supply-demand dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop fact-based recommendations and communicate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.

Skills and Knowledge

- Knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management principles.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and supplier performance programs.
- Understanding of supply assurance, risk mitigation, and business continuity strategies.
- Ability to analyze complex market information and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- High degree of integrity and commitment to ethical procurement practices.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience sourcing direct materials, chemicals, feedstocks, or categories critical to manufacturing operations.
- Experience with contract management, supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and total cost analysis.
- Knowledge of global logistics, Incoterms, customs requirements, international trade practices, and landed cost evaluation.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms, Microsoft 365, data analytics, and visualization tools.
- Advanced training or certification in negotiation, project management, procurement, or finance.

Working Environment

- Corporate office or hybrid office environment.
- Collaboration with global cross-functional teams including Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, Technology, and Legal.
- Periodic travel may be required for supplier visits, business meetings, or manufacturing site support.
