Make a difference as a Mill Laborer

As a new Mill Laborer at Barrett Petfood, you can expect an engaging and dynamic work environment where every day is filled with hands-on tasks. Your daily responsibilities will include operating machinery, mixing ingredients, and ensuring that our production processes run smoothly. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the mill, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality expectations.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with your team to troubleshoot any issues that arise, participating in problem-solving discussions to improve processes. The position requires you to follow safety protocols and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting. Your scheduled work hours are Monday through Thursday, from 5 PM to 4 AM , providing you with a long weekend to recharge.

day to day responsibilities

- · Guide semi-trailer into designated area

- · Complete incoming and outbound inspection reports

- · Sample raw materials

- · Receive in raw materials

- · Inventory/cycle counts

- · Assist in dumping bulk totes

- · Ensure proper ingredient weights, materials, and labeling as required

- · Report, document, and repair any discrepancies found within your work area.

- · Clean equipment and facilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.

- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.

- Climb and descend stairs and ladders safely and routinely, including accessing elevated work areas and equipment.

- Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling

- Maintain balance and stability while working on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable.

- Work in varying environmental conditions, including areas that may be hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or subject to temperature fluctuations.
