Requirements Gathering & Management: Elicit detailed business requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys. Translate business needs into clear technical specifications (User Stories, Functional Requirement Documents). Process Analysis & Optimization: Map current-state processes ("As-Is") and design improved future-state workflows ("To-Be") to eliminate bottlenecks and lower costs. Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze datasets to uncover trends, validate business problems, evaluate solution performance, and support decision-making. Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the communication hub between business units (Operations, Finance, Sales) and technical teams (Engineering, Product, IT). Solution Validation & Testing: Help define acceptance criteria, oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure delivered solutions match initial requirements. Change Management: Assist in training end-users, creating process documentation, and facilitating smooth system rollouts. Technical & Hard Skills Process Modeling: BPMN, UML, flowcharting (Visio, Lucidchart). Data & Analytics: SQL, Excel (advanced), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau). Project Management Tools: Jira, Confluence, Trello, Asana. Methodologies: Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) Soft Skills Critical thinking and structured problem-solving. Clear verbal and written communication (translating tech to business and vice versa). Stakeholder management and negotiation. Active listening and facilitation. Sample Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Requirement accuracy and traceabilty (minimizing scope creep/rework). Process cycle time reduction in target workflows. Stakeholder satisfaction scores (CSAT). On-time delivery rate of UAT and specification deliverables. This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
