Sr Medical Affairs Specialist- FTC

Job Summary
We’re seeking a Senior Medical Affairs Specialist to join us on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. We’re looking for someone with experience in HCP Professional Education and/or clinical in-field activities, who will work closely with cross-functional partners to support clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective HCP communication.


Position Overview:

Insulet Corporation is dedicated to improving the lives of people with diabetes. Our Medical Affairs department supports this mission by providing medical expertise to inform product research and development, evidence generation and dissemination, key opinion leader (KOL) engagement, and medical education. The Medical Affairs Specialist will lead key deliverables to support core department functions and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

- Ensure processing of external communications (e.g. medical information inquiries, promotional materials) are medically and scientifically accurate, meet compliance standards and adhere to all applicable, regional regulations, and industry guidelines.
- Develop training and educational products and programs that meet the needs of various audiences (internal, external, professional and end user) that cadence with new products, indications, and claims.
- Inform the development of evidence generation plans to provide meaningful data and impact innovation, support expansion of claims and indications, and satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Effectively communicate the clinical value of Insulet’s line of products to external audiences.
- Analyze evidence related to diabetes therapies, standards of care, and technologies to inform product development and commercial strategies.
- Ensure successful execution of corporate sponsored and investigator-initiated research studies.
- Maintain clinical quality standards by ensuring procedures reflect current practices and initiatives align with set standards.
- Strategize and execute plans for International, National, and local scientific conferences (presentations, reports, Medical Information booth)

Education and Experience:

- Minimum bachelor’s degree in health-related science and/or healthcare credentials (RN, RD, etc.). An advanced graduate degree is highly desired (PharmD, MSc).
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a clinical, industry, or research setting is required.
- Clinical or scientific background related to diabetes disease state and devices is preferred.
- Industry experience in Medical Information, Clinical Research, Medical Science, or Medical Education departments is desirable.

- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and effectively prioritize project timelines.
- History of strong clinical practice in both industry and non-industry settings.
- Familiarity with regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines/policies.
- Skilled in medical communication towards diverse audience groups.
- Self-driven, regularly meets or exceeds expectations.
- Working knowledge of relevant software programs [e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Products, Medical Communication tools (Medical Information CRM, Promotional Material Review))]
- High ethical standards which apply to interactions with HCPs, payers, and industry representative
