Otis Worldwide has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Quality Engineer who will play a critical role in driving product and process excellence across our operations. This position is responsible for investigating field failures, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence. The ideal candidate will proactively assess manufacturing and specification processes to identify potential quality gaps, support cross-functional problem-solving initiatives, and lead data-driven analysis to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.

The Role:

- Assess and evaluates all manufacturing processes for gaps that could lead to opportunities for potential defects or escapes to the customer
- Assess and evaluate all upstream specification processes for gaps that could lead to opportunities for potential defects or escapes to the customer
- Documents, investigation results and summarizing technical details
- Provides detail summaries and presentations to team and reports to management in monthly Quality reviews
- Provides detailed summaries to other functional groups to initiate Problem Solving projects or events when necessary
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Interacts with Field support to understand failures and failure modes to aid in identifying cause(s) of failures and aid in working on solutions to prevent reoccurrence of those failures in the future

To be SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOUR PROFILE SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

- Critical Learning: understanding the data and data systems along with the manufacturing processes
- Critical Reasoning: logically identifying and reasoning individually and within teams when necessary to participate in detail problem solving events and provide solutions when necessary
- Responsiveness & Responsibility: capable of reacting quickly at high frequencies and monitoring yourself and your work
- Problem Solving: logically identifying issues and supporting teams with technical expertise to aid in obtain solutions and mistake proofs using but not limited to RRCA
- Data Comprehension: the ability to read and understand information within spreadsheets and other various documents electronically
- Data Analysis: the ability to decipher data to identify potential or active issues and possible trends when they exist
- Problem Identification: the ability to assess and identify issues within process/product when they exist
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work well under pressure & work well with others

What You Will Need to be Successful:

- Some College
- Minimum of 2 years in quality assurance in a manufacturing or factory environment
- Some Continuous Improvement principles and application knowledge
- Ability to analyze data
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to stand/walk frequently
- Infrequent lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Infrequent push/pulling exertion 20 lbs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Minitab

Preferred qualifications:

- Lean/6 Sigma certification a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in quality, engineering, or related discipline
- Elevator Systems – Fundamental knowledge and understanding of elevator systems is a plus
