About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Engineer to manage and optimize our critical infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of networking, storage systems, virtualization technologies, and both Windows and Linux server environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-level IT infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and high availability.
Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and VPNs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues related to firewalls,
routers, and switches (Sonic walls, Palo Altos, Merakis, Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and
reliability.
- Implement security measures such as access controls, VPN tunnels, and
firewall configurations.
Storage Systems:
- Manage enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and ensure data
availability, performance, and security.
- Perform capacity planning, storage provisioning, and data replication.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring
data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Virtualization (ESXi):
- Install, configure, and manage VMware ESXi infrastructure and virtual
machines.
- Optimize virtualization environments for performance, scalability, and
availability.
- Ensure regular updates, patch management, and monitoring of virtualized
systems.
- Windows Server Administration:
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (Active
Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, etc.).
- Manage server roles, permissions, and security policies.
- Ensure proper patch management, backups, and disaster recovery
procedures for Windows-based systems.
- Linux Systems Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS,
etc.).
- Automate tasks and monitor server performance using scripting (Bash,
Python).
- Implement security measures and best practices for Linux environments.
- System Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
- Set up monitoring tools and respond to alerts to proactively identify and
resolve system performance issues.
- Implement performance tuning for servers, storage, and network systems.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, database
administrators, and support staff.
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies for future
reference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related
field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering with a focus on
networking, storage, and virtualization.
- Strong hands-on experience with networking protocols and equipment.
(TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, etc.).
- Expertise in storage systems (SAN, NAS) and backup/disaster recovery
solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of VMware ESXi and vSphere administration.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Servers (Active Directory, Group Policy)
and Linux environments.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex
technical issues.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, VCP, RHCE, or MCSA are highly
desirable.

Preferred Certifications:
