We are seeking multiple Quality Control Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Columbus. You will work closely with a Mechanical Contractor to conduct quality control on construction and fabrication drawings within the fab shop. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in healthcare, education, data centers, and large commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Review shop drawings to ensure mechanical systems, including plumbing and HVAC, are fabricated, built, and assembled correctly.
- Inspect mechanical and plumbing systems in fabrication shops before they are shipped to client job sites.
- Conduct audits to ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to provide guidance on correctly building HVAC and mechanical systems.
Essential Skills
- Experience with quality control in mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in HVAC inspection and engineering.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical inspection and sheet metal work.
- Knowledge of plumbing design and tape measure use.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 4-year or 2-year Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Interest in working for a mechanical contractor.
- Understanding of fabrication processes.
Work Environment
This position is on-site, working from Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, within the fabrication shop. The role involves hands-on inspection and collaboration with the fabrication team to ensure quality standards are met.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
