Job Summary

This is a highly visible role within PSEG’s centralized performance improvement organization with the opportunity to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that improve how work gets done across the company. The Project Leader partners with business leaders to redesign end-to-end value streams, solve persistent performance challenges, and translate improvement opportunities into sustainable changes in process, business and technology architecture, data, roles, and accountability.. The role also helps connect process improvement with the broader evolution of business capabilities, technology, data and operating models. Project initiatives include cost management, performance efficiency, process development, ownership/alignment, and other operational initiatives, in addition to including large-scale transformational projects focused on supporting the company’s core business results.

Job Responsibilities

- Delivers business and value stream solutions that will enable the company to maintain its high performance, business leadership position in Operational Excellence, Financial Strength, and Disciplined Investment.

- Independently leads business leaders and complex cross functional teams from problem identification through future-state design and implementation, using approaches such as. DMAIC, ADKAR, PDCA, value-stream mapping, Kaizen events and root cause analysis as appropriate. Independently drives sessions (e.g. meetings, workshops) for project chartering, ideal state brainstorming, current state process mapping, root cause analysis, solution brainstorming, future state process control system mapping and development, implementation planning and 30-60-90 implementation tracking. Project manages and/or coaches trained business resources through Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events, Lean Six Sigma projects, Root Cause Analysis, and Change Management efforts.

Job Specific Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in engineering, business administration or other analytical field.

- 7 years of demonstrated experience in process development, performance efficiency, continuous improvement or equivalent experience.

- Demonstrated ability to challenge established ways of working constructively, influence leaders without direct authority, and create momentum for change across organizational boundaries.

- Working knowledge of value stream management and value streams.

- Technical mastery of Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt Certification) or other process improvement methodologies.

- Working knowledge of value stream management and value streams.

- Project management skills and ability to work multiple projects simultaneously.

- Experience in driving change management.

- Strong training, presentation, and communication skills - both written and oral. Strong understanding of analytical tools and statistics.

- Ability to lead, and coach facilitators.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally on sensitive issues. Ability to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

- Ability to foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.

- Prior experience with process documentation.

- Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Desired

- Six sigma black belt certified and experience with both the delivery and deployment of business transformation projects.

- PMI Certification

- Experience using business architectural frameworks, defining business capabilities, and collaborating across IT and business teams to ensure process, technology, and data alignment is strongly preferred.
